This a fine capture of Gulsparven, with good lighting and Bg. It is very nearly sharp and well composed. I like the spruce fringing the top of the picture.

WOW,
The color of the bird and the BG is so good here that "i like it". The position of the bird in the frame too. The light spot in the eye is an added bonus

What a splendid capture and shot!
Beside the "simple" fact that you managed to catch such a beautiful bird - the yellowhammer - with impeccably sharp details, you somehow managed to find an outstanding and contrast BG for it...Brilliant!
The light here in it is just perfect and the colors and tones came out wonderfully!
Also the exposure is spot-on, the POV is exceptional and the DOF is excellent, blurring the surroundings very nicely.

Hello Mikael

Great capture of this little beauty. The colours look very natural. The sharpness/dof is very good leaving plenty of details in the bird and a well blurred background to set it off nicely. The composition with the diagonal twig is good but I think you could improve it even more by using the 1/3 rule and crop some of the space behind the bird. So I dared to make a WS to show what I mean - hope it is OK.

Hi Mikael,
All your birds are exceptional in one way or the other, first of all the masterly technique of course (which seems to come effortless with you and to be subordinate to the aesthetic goal), firing at the very right moment to get that extra touch from them, the way you crop them and present them. You seem to have an instinctual feeling for the right perspectives and proportions and to highlight essential aspects, characteristic features and curious miens of the species, according to my liking at least. One can tell from afar: Wow, this is a "mikael pettersen bird"! Thank you very much for sharing this lovely Yellowhammer,

Hi,

The yellowhammer is very rare in Holland and hard to shoot. You caught this one well.Natural colors and green/blue environment.
