First I will thank all for the nice comments and word of my last post,

This the first time I have taken a picture of Eurasian Jay, Nötskrika,
It’s a very shy bird and almost impossible to come close, this is taken from our new hide.
Nötskrikan is a common bird in the south and middle parts of Sweden,
It’s a quite big bird, body length 32-37 cm a wing span 54-58 cm and weight around 170 gram.

The Eurasian Jay (Garrulus glandarius) occurs over a vast region from Western Europe and north-west Africa to the eastern seaboard of Asia and down into south-east Asia. Across its vast range, several very distinct racial forms have evolved to look very different from each other, especially when forms at the extremes of its range are compared.
In Europe, "Jay" is used by people who speak the English language as a synonym for the Eurasian Jay.
The Eurasian Jay was one of the many species originally described by Linnaeus in his 18th century work Systema Naturae. He recognised its affinity with other corvids, naming it Corvus glandarius
A member of the widespread jay group, and about the size of the Jackdaw, it inhabits mixed woodland, particularly with oaks, and is an habitual acorn hoarder. In recent years, the bird has begun to migrate into urban areas, possibly as a result of continued erosion of its woodland habitat.

hi Gert
splendide image d'une clareté de grande qualité. J'aime les couleurs denses et la lumière diffuse, dommage que la vitesse n'ait pas permis de figer le mouvement du bec.

Hi Gert

Congratulations on another beautiful species added to your list of photographed animals! The new hide seems to be working very well :)
This is a splendid shot, showing this lovely bird with impressive sharp details and charming and vivid natural colors.
The exposure is spot-on and the DOF is impeccable, isolating the subject very well from the BG.
Even though you used a tripod, the sharpness is inpressive for a 1/50 at such a long focal length.
Wonderful work!

Bravo and TFS
Horia

Hej Gert,
Wonderful close-up of the Jay in a lovely pose! It's easier to hear these birds than to see them so your hide has really paid off! I love the POV and details are very sharp and the colours beautiful. The soft background colours fit very well too.
Many thanks and cheers, Ulla

Underbart, Gert!
It's amazing what a hide, some patience and your skills as a photographer can do! Beautiful capture of a Eurasian Jay taken from a fine POV showing the typical features with superb clarity and detail.

Es realmente maravilloso ese enfoque, casi igualas la realidad ... Aparte del gran enfoque destaca una iluminación perfecta adornado todo ello con una buena pose del ave y unos sorprendentes colores. Gran fotografía !!

Hi Gert,
A superb shot on this Eurasian Jay. Soft shadowless light and a spot on exposure. The colors and detail shown in the plumage are amazing. The long focal length did a great job isolating and blurring the backround perfectly. Great camera work as usual.
Take Care my friend,
Scott

Hi Gert,
perfectly clear portrait with brilliant colours - I can see and hear that pretty jay so often in the woods next to my home, but I never succeed in getting anynwhere near enough for a close look. Very well approached. looking forward to all the other close encounters from your new hide. Thank you!
With best regards,
Peter

Hello Gert,
This portrait of the European Jay is so perfect,
I felt like I could just reach out and touch it.
The details are so incredibly crisp.
Great eye contact and added bonus of the beak full of seeds.
Excellent exposure that brings out the beautiful colors.

Hi Gert,

I apologise for my long absence. The hectic pace of life leaves one little time for relaxation and hobbies.

This is such a beautiful bird. I have never seen it before. Technically the photo is also very good. You did so well with the light because the colours look well saturated.

Well done.
