First I will thank all for the nice comments and words of my last post.

This is my version of this well known Wren.
Ralfs Version
Mickes version
I took this from our hide, Micke and I with Ralf as guest, he was with us for 2 days.
We spent most of the days in our small hide to see it we could found a Eurasian Jay, Goldcrest and a Long-tailed tit for Ralf. The Goldcrest and Long-tailed show up but too short for a shot, Instead this shy fellow show up, it was Ralf who this at the side of the hide. This wren was very co-operative and return several times, I even got time to change and borrow Ralfs BIG canon 400mm L 2.8 lens with which I took this shot.
It was a bad light condition; I had to use ISO 400, F4.0 and 1/100 sec.
We had a great afternoon since didn’t expect find this small bird who usually running on the ground and in close bushes.
The quality of this pictures are not the best but it’s my first of a wren in the open.
I hope you like my version of this lovely bird.

The Winter Wren (Troglodytes troglodytes) is a very small bird, a member of the mainly New World wren family Troglodytidae. It is the only wren which occurs in the Old World; in Great Britain it is commonly known simply as "the" Wren.
The scientific name, meaning "cave-dweller", refers to its habit of disappearing into cavities or crevices whilst hunting arthropods or to roost. Sometimes, it is placed in a monotypic genus Nannus to reflect its distinctness from the American Troglodytes[citation needed]. It might actually be closely related to Cistothorus (Martínez Gómez et al. 2005), but the available data could not resolve this isusue to satisfaction.
It is common in Europe, a belt of Asia from northern Iran and Afghanistan across to Japan, and North America. It is only migratory in the northern parts of its range.
The 9–10.5 cm long Wren is rufous brown above, greyer beneath, barred with darker brown and grey, even on wings and tail. The bill is dark brown, the legs pale brown. Young birds are less distinctly barred.
The plumage is subject to considerable variation, and where populations have been isolated, the variation has become fixed in one minor form or another. There are around 27 Eurasian subspecies of this taxonomically complex bird, with around 12 more in North America. The disputed subspecies orii, the Daito Winter Wren, became extinct around 1940 – if it is indeed a valid taxon and not merely based on an anomaly.
Thus in the British Isles, in addition to the typical bird, T. t. indigenus, there are two distinct insular forms; one, T. t. hirtensis, is confined to the island of St Kilda, and another, T. t. zetlandicus to Shetland. The St. Kilda Wren is greyer above, whiter beneath, and with more abundant bars on the back; the Shetland Wren is darker.
Recent DNA and vocalisation studies[citation needed] suggest that the subspecies in Alaska and the Aleutian Islands, which has a harsher, more complex song, may well be a different species from the eastern North American and European forms. The latter two populations are also genetically distinct, but possibly not sufficiently to be split as separate species. This research did not include the distinctive Scottish forms

Dear Gert
Words cannot explain what I would like to say to you. I wanted to send you a personal e-mail but somehow do not know how, as I do not see a link to your e-mail address. Sorry for doing it this way, using the space where I am supposed to critique your photo. I am so honoured with your gesture of choosing me as one of your favourite’s. You are one of the most talented and master of photographers on Trek Nature which I really admire and respect. You have touched my 75 year old heart, and I am in an emotional frame of mind. Thank you my friend from Sweden.
The photo is stunning as usual, and everything just right.
Sincere regards
Aaltjie

Hi Gert

A nice addition to the wren picture from your 2-day "fun at the hide" :)
I actually think you all had fun threre and were all very happy with the photos you managed to come home with. The gallery is delighted with their posting.
I really liek the position you captured this wren here: the POV is great and it shows us this cute posture with one leg on one branch and the other on another, plus it gives a terrific angle of that cute tail, too.
The details are good, the colors are nice, but what i like the most is the impeccable DOF that also gave you a superb uniform BG.

Bravo and TFS

Hej Gert,
Grattis! Du har fångat min gäckfågel på ett fint sätt!
Excellent capture using Ralf's big lens. Fantastic timing to get this fine pose sharply. The composition and BG are as always, perfect.
Well done and TFS!

Snyggt jobbat!

Hej Gert

Excellent shot Gert! Nice pose, details and colours! Well done MF !

Vist var den fin och litten. Det är bra att vi har visat gärdsmygen from tre olika vinklar. Hur går det med influensan och ryggen? Jag har lyckats att boka resan till NY.

Hi Gert.
I like how you spend the time there. Your trophies are really great. Despite the bad light condition you managed to get perfectly sharpened and exposed shot with nice rich colours. I like wonderful scene, framing and composition a lot. Bravo and best regards.
Alexei.

Hello Gert,

A graphically nice picture with all those diagonals (formed by the branch and the bird's legs... Also a nice green bg complimenting the brown bird... Maybe I'm wrong but it seems to me that the crop is important here...

Excellent POV and great thing to be at the same height than the bird!

Excellent shot and TFS!

At what distance where you at this moment? I would very much like to see a photo of your hide, Gert! A friend and I are right now planing on building one for the kingfishers in Emån and Silverån this spring...

Hej Gert,
This is how I often see this little bird, looking very cheeky, but I only see him for a second and then he's gone!! You've done realloy well to catch him in this very nice pose. As usual great focus and sharp details. He looks great against the green soft background.
(Du tar väl bra betalt av alla som använder ditt gömsle!?)

Hi Gert,

A beautiful shot of this wren. The pose on the angles of the branches is just wonderful. Excellent natural colors and razor-sharp details. A flawless background and superb composition.

Jane

I love the stance of this bird; the fact he is perched not on one limbs, but two. The dof is perfect. The wren is clear and the BG brings the subject out that much more. Very lovely.
