A fine image of this popular Butterfly of a nice freshly emerged specimen. Technically excellent and the composition with the purple Knapweed flower is superb against the contrasting dark neutral BG.

I was inspired by Greg’s pictures too Gert, and asked if they would be ok on my 30D. I must go look for some soon.
This is a lovely shot of this brimstone butterfly. I do like the shape of its wings, and the colour seems to shine against the thistle flower.
Very good sharp details and clearness.

I have heard the 70-200 lens is fantastic. Your experience of using this lens with tube is so interesting and result is very impressive. Superb details of the charming butterfly and nice flower. I always look for a new post from you and am so glad to see this. The Butterfly on the beautiful flower was worth waiting for. Colors and clarity are superb. The Brimstone (and the flower) jump out from the wonderful background. Exquisite as always.

Hej Gert,
I'm sorry to have missed this excellent capture of the Brimstone! The technical quality is brilliant as usual and I like its pose here on the Thistle. A fine background too that makes it stand out very nicely.
I hope you have some good weather up there. Too little rain here. We had the best weather here while Ivan was in Norrland! ;-)
