First I will thank you all for the fine comments on my previous post.

This was the second time I came close to a wild red fox and this it was the one took contact. He was waiting for me when I was walking up tree ponds to lock for some Blue throats. He was very close, sometimes to close for my 400mm.
He was around me for about one hours, I will never forget our meeting.
The DOF is a bit short; I wish I used a smaller aperture to get the whole fox in focus.
I think it is a beautiful animal.

The Red fox have been quite common again after a lot of years with very reduced strain because of the Fox scabies. It’s great to see a lot of healthy Foxes again.
This one is healthy as you can see; take a look at the fluffy tail.
I hope you like him

Indeed Gert it is beautiful. A rare occurrence and could not have happened to a better photographer. How lucky you were that fine day. the fur is blazing. A good thin he is living in the 21st Century eh? Otherwise he would have made a fine hat from some old Dear Slayer....fine image!

Hi Gert. Its so nice to see a fox in the wild. And to get its picture is a big bonus .As you say in your notes this one came very close. You were able to get fine detail and rich colours in the red coloured fur . It had it eye on you with that stare of the fox. well done TFS.

Hej Gert,
Nice to see an image from you!
This capture of a healthy Red Fox is excellent and I don't the slightly OOF tail is a problem as the rest of the fox is tack sharp. Taken with excellent lighting in a great pose and looking like it has been out in the wet grass.
Thanks for sharing this beauty,
Hälsningar,
Ivan

Excellent capture Gert... outstanding detail and composition. Color and lighting is fantastic. An excellent image... TFS

Larry

The slight OOF on the tails brings the attention to the eyes. I see it as a plus rather than a default.
Beautiful fox. Brilliant pic.

Hi Gert

Superb close-up of this gorgeous wild fox!
The details you managed to get here are impressive and the shallow DOF that you benefited from ensured that you'd also get a perfect isolation between your subject and the BG.
Very beautiful colors and classic composition, too!

Bravo and TFS

Hej Gert!
What a superb capture of this beautiful Fox. How lucky you were to get so close. Last time I saw one was on Öland but that was a shaggy one. This one looks very healthy with a lovely coat and beautiful bushy tail. Excellent sharpness and colours and I like the timing and your POV.
TFS and cheers, Ulla

Hi Gert

Aaaah, "Touched by Nature" and the outcome of these encounters are usually such that we are never the same afterwards, because these precious moments normally leave a lasting impression on us. Your notes make it clear that this little fox gave you a wonderful treat.

From the thumbnail I could already see this is a beauty, but when I opened the image I once again remained spellbound by the shear magnificence of this image. It has the Ellström touch of a master written all over it. Anyway, it's no secret that most of your postings have this kind of "wow" impact on me and I am convinced also on a lot of other TrekNature members as well.

This is absolutely fabulous. The pin sharp details are immaculate, the little dew droplets on the grass looks like crystals, the focussed and intense expression in those gorgeous eyes are amazing, the upright ears are ever so alert, the pelt looks so spongy and soft, the pose is as if you two have rehearsed for the shot and so it goes on and on. Spick-n-span. Even if you have increased the DOF (not that I think it is necessary at all) but I doubt that it would have improved or have much impact on this flawless shot.

Well done MF and TFS.
Best regards
Loot

PS1. It sure does my heart good to see you are posting some photos again. Unfortunately I haven't had contact with you since the surgery on your wrist. How are you coping? Was this time more successful? I sincerely hope everything went well and you are relieved of your pain.

PS2. I'll be off the site for a week or so as I must go to hospital (tomorrow) to have an "incisional hernia" repaired on my abdominal wall. See you around later my friend.

Hi Gert,

Nice to see a posting from you again,I hope you are doing well,I like this capture and its short DOF,as the focus is on its important part, well done and tfs

Paul

Is this a real fox?I ask this question Ellis, for it seems to be posing for you!
A marvel of a shot, and that is an understatement!
Thank you!
Goldy

Hi Gert,
What a pleasure to hear from you through your critique on my new picture!
So how are you keeping?
The shallow DOF IMHO is not a big problem. I see the entire Foxin sharp focus. I am also impressed with the quality of natural colours on the subject.
What a fantastic experience to have this animal giving you company for more than an hour!
Thanks and all the best.
Ram
