First I will thank you all for the fine comments on my previous post.

This is a Whitethroat, Törnsångare, a medium sized song bird, big as Great Tit, and it’s very common up here.
It’s a migratory bird and in the spring the males come long before the females to build
several nests but he doesn’t finish any of them, when he got a female, she pick up one of the
unfinished nest and they finish the building together.
This one has restart a new nest I think because it’s a bit late in the season for the first breeding
.

Hej gert,
A very nice capture of a female Törnsångare with some nesting material in her beak. The un-cluttered POV is great and the composition with the OOF natural BG really sets her off in great lighting.
A wonderful remnder of summer and thank you for sharing it with us!
Hälsningar,
Ivan

Sommar! Jag tänker ta ett till försök på Fjärilsvagen nästa år, kanske i juli.
Nu är det kallt och grått!

Hello Gert,
Very well composed picture to present this cute Whitethroat finishing its nest. It looks quite funny with all these stalks across the beak. Fine and natural colors and subtle light.
Very well seen.
Thanks and best regards
Anne

Hi Gert.
I do not remember Sigma 150-500 in your bag. Perfect use of this excellent lens. Handheld using impresses me too. Scene is amazing. And I like impressive lights on dark richly coloured BG. Cute birdy and wonderful set of thin twigs are reproduced precisely. POV and framing are brilliant as always. Bravo and all the best for you, dear friend.

Hi Gert

Very nice "in-work" :)) shot of this lovely whitethroat.
I see you've used a bigger DOF here and i guess that's because you also wanted to catch the twigs he is building with here...and i think you did great. Everything here is in nice focus and presented very sharply.
Wonderful colors both on the bird and in the BG, wonderful composition and a nice note to go with it all, too.

Bravo and TFS

Hi Gert,
What a beautiful image of the Whitethroat while in work.
I like a lot the subtle lighting and the the way the subject stands out from the nicely blurred background.
It's very well balanced the composition too.
Great picture and thanks for share.
My best regards,
JM

Hi Gert,

That's a smart bird!!! Why should the male finish a nest and then have the female complain about it? Brilliant to finish it together - it will be the way she wants it :-) This Whitethroat is beautiful as well as smart. He collects the way the Cactus Wren does with as much in his mouth as possible. Colors, clarity and composition are superb - a true ellis49 photograph.

Hi Gert

thanks for your recent critique, good to see you're still posting here, I hope you are well. Another rainy weekend here, the 6th in a row, not much of a summer, I may get out tomorrow afternoon, but then its going to be windy!!!!!

Cool shot of this species I've not seen before. Great shrapness with that big lens and hand-held too, impressive. Great composition and OOF background.

best wishes
Chris

Hi Gert,
a superb shot!!
Very good detail.
Excellent pose.
Perfect composition.

p.s do you think the 150-500mm is better than the Canon 100-400mm?

Hello Gert,
Great shot of this lovely bird hard at work, beautiful
natural colors, lovely catchlight in his eye, superb
sharpness and depth of field, wonderful detail in
the plummage, good composition and pov and very nice
blurry background.

Hola Gert,

Josep Ignasi.
