First I will thank all for the nice comments and words of my last post.

I have been looking for something new to post but it’s not easy when I have posted over 600th pictures.
But I found this cute fellow the other day when I visit my feeding station.
I’m not a specialist at mice but I think this is a Bank Voles.
They can dig very long tunnels under the snow, both for food hunting and protection.
This smart guy ended his tunnel just under one of my feeders so he has a lot of nice sun flower seeds, the birds is dropping.
He is quite cute when he is holding with the back paws just over the opening and eating the seeds with his small “hands”.
I hope you like the Voles.

From Wikipedia.
The Bank Vole Myodes glareolus is a small vole with red-brown fur and some grey patches. It lives in woodland areas and is around 100mm in length. It is found in western Europe and northern Asia. It was accidentally introduced to the south west of Ireland. Bank voles can be found all over mainland Britain, but prefer coppiced areas of woodland with dense vegetation such as bracken and bramble. They can live for 18 months and are omnivorous, eating insects and fruits such raspberries. It is the smallest vole found in the UK. It boasts very prominent ears and chestnut-brown fur. They can be distinguished from mice by their short, blunt, almost hamster-like noses.
Their ears are clearly visible (unlike in the field vole). Its tail is about half as long as body (It's shorter in the field vole, longer in a mouse). Adults have red brown fur. After the wood mouse it is probably Britain's most abundant small rodent. Bank voles are found in woods, hedges, scrub and gardens. Also known as the common vole. Eats: hazelnuts, seeds, berries, green plants and fungi. Eaten by: kestrel, fox, tawny owl and cat.
They live in underground chambers lined with moss, feathers and vegetable fibre. Inside the chamber they keep a store of food.

A roundish, cute little fellow indeed Gert, looks quite happy with the sunflower seeds around in the height of the winter. Very sharp image perfectly exposed in spite of the bright snow all around. TFS this fine image my friend.
Cheers,
Mehmet

Hi Gert,
What a cute shot of this wee Vole munching on a sunflower seed.
I used to catch voles in England and try and keep them as pets.
Excellent exposure,colour and detail.
TFS and Cheers

Hallo Gert
This is just what the doctor ordered today. What a delightful image of this little chap eating seeds in the snow. It is indeed a pleasure to look at this guy. I just love the almost squint eyes, the tiny nails on the paws, the longish whiskers and most of that entire innocent look on its face. Details displayed are clear and pleasing to the eye, especially the ice crystals are very clear to see. A super image with great composition, focus and sharpness. I thank you kindly for sharing.
Best regards
Anna

Hello Gert, Doesnt matter even if your picture gets repeat. This is a fine shot and superb image. (You feel better by looking at nature everyday). Sharp picture Ganesh

Hy Gert
I know this species like Cletrionomy glareolus, but as I read, is a synonym. I am glad to see small mammals, especially rodents. This one is really cute, busy with his seeds. Probably the winter is not so hard, because I knew that during the winter, these mammals are hibernating or walking under the snow/ground.
TFS and all the best

Hi Gert.
Simply sweet picture. I cannot imagine how you have taken it. This charming creature poses you as famous photo model and you have justified its hopes having created the truly work of art. Eye-contact is amazing as well as all details of the animal and surrounding it snow. I always impressed with you skill at exposure. Brilliant, touching picture. My congratulations and TFS.

kvivskarpt och bra!

Hi Gert, again,
I missed this fantastic Bank vole before. The picture the shot belongs in your "book", the document that models present to get a job :-). A particularity is the use of flash in snow. The result is fabulous, very professional.
