First I will thank all for the nice comments and words of my last post

Today’s post is a good looking Robin taken at my feeding station outside my town.
To be frank, I’m quite bored not to have new species to upload, in the winter we don’t have much to choice. I waiting eagerly for the returning birds, the first will come in a couple of weeks.
This Robin has been around the feeders all the winter, some days he is gone but he always return. I don’t not how a robin can survive our cold winter some below -20C, we had one last winter too, maybe it’s the same.
It’s taken with my 300mm and 2.0x extender; it was the first time I attached a 2.0x extender.
And it works quite well.
I hope you like the winter Robin.
Some info
the European Robin (Erithacus rubecula), or, in Anglophone Europe, simply Robin, is a small insectivorous passerine bird that was formerly classed as a member of the thrush family (Turdidae), but is now considered to be an Old World flycatcher (Muscicapidae). Around 12.5–14.0 cm (5.0–5.5 in) in length, the male and female are similar in colouration, with an orange breast and face lined with grey, brown upperparts and a whitish belly. It is found across Europe, east to Western Siberia and south to North Africa; it is sedentary in most of its range except the far north.

Hi Gert,
It might be just another Robin, but it is a very colourful one,and you have captured it perfectly.
Our Robins are rather plain looking compared to the European species.

Hi Gert.
You set of lenses really works great. I like superb details and sharpness of the bird's image, amazing rich colours and nice bokeh. Illumination and exposure of the bird is stunning. Looks like flash light. Pose of the bird, its glance are excellent as well as the impressive framing and cropping. My kind regards from Odessa where winter was absent absolutely this year.
Alexei.
