Welcome back Gert!
This is a great portrayal of a male Bramling taken from a great POV with technical and aesthetic perfection that includes a fine composition against a neutral BG.
Well done and thanks for joining TN again.
Best regards,
Ivan

Hello Gert,
After almost six months you're back. Yes!!! I'm very glad. And a photo in good quality. Excellent sharp details and very beautiful natural colours, also in the contrasting plain BG. Great diagonal composition and POV.
Regards,
Peter

Hi Gert,
Welcome back with your impressive captures like this. It would be nice to see some great photographers like you (not me!) that they could 1 or 2 point system to improve others' photography as a teacher.
Have a great day!

I too am back from a lengthy break from TN Gert, and quite happy to share this masterly Brambling study in nature, expertly caught during a natural stance against a blurry grayish BG in good focus and exposure. Thank you indeed my friend.

Hej Gert!
I'm surprised to see you back again but as the long winter comes upon us this is a nice way to spend the time!! Birds have been so scarce around here over the last six months, hopefully there'll be more this winter and I look forward to seeing the Bramblings again!
This is a lovely capture showing this male in a fine pose and in lovely colours. Great sharpness as usual and well composed.
TFS and all the best, Ulla
Jag hör att du ska fly söderut i vinter - låter spännande. Vi har svårt för att lämna vår lilla hund annars skulle vi nog göra samma sak! Ha det bra!

Hi Gert . Its so good to see you back posting again on TN. I have missed your pictures and comments.
We have to wait until late December till we see the Brambling but its worth the wait .
You have taken a fine close up of this male which you have sharp focusing and fine detail in the feathers. Your use of the light has given natural colours. The orange stands out from the grey BG. All with interesting notes. TFS.

Welcome back Gert
We have missed your fine shots, good luck with your new system. These days I only critique teh ones I like. I tried being honest and got some nasty abusive emails, ha ha. I just like the friendship here and have visited several members on my overseas trips, that's what keeps me here.
Good portrait of this Brambling, perefctly positioned on the broken limb. Excellent sharpness and composition, great OOF background.
hope to see you here again

Hi Gert,
It's soooo nice to see a post from you!!! I have only seen a Brambling in pictures and this one is a beauty. His spring finery is beautiful with wonderful colors and superfine details. I love the pose, perfect background and lovely composition.

Hi Gert
Nice to see you back and hopefully for a longer time again :)
Whatever your choice, i'm happy to see this lovely shot from you! The quality of your works is impeccable and i think anyone here can learn from it.
The Brambling here look amazing and is presented with loads of pin sharp details. The texture of the plumage - especially on and around the head - is impeccable and such a treat to watch.
Further more, the DOF is spot-on, blurring the BG very nicely and thus making the beautiful little bird standing out very nicely.
Finally, there is one details i'll refer to: the fact that you manage to expose this so well that you didn't even overexpose the bright branch it is on...most people don't take that into consideration when shooting a subject but it ends up being very distracting. You've done an exceptional job!
Bravo and TFS

Hello Gert,
welcome back to TN, missed you a lot!
High precision tack sharp portrait of the Bergfink. Its subtle colours are standing out perfectly well against the distantly smooth gray background. Perfectly well balanced composition. A pleasure to study this masterpiece.
Birds are a very intelligent and wary target and therefore really difficult to capture in such a perfect qulity. Requiring a good hide, a lot of knowledge of their behaviour, precision tele-optics equipment, great focussing skills.
Congratulations my friend. Thank you!
With best regards,
Peter
P.S.: Thank you for your visit and very kind words to one of my recent postings a few days ago! Due to much pressure of time in my teaching job I have become a rather irregular visitor to this site myself. But I will stay in touch as much as I can, and I always enjoy visiting and be visited by my old friends here at TN.

What a lovely shot, Gert!
Simply superb! The plumage stands out sharply, even as the beautiful( almost graphics-like) OOF BG make a statement of its own!
Thanks so much for this share!
Respect!
