This is a bird that I have looked at in reference books many times but never seen.
You have captured him perfectly on the fir tree..superb choice of dof and the focus is spot on considering theres a lot of other focus points around him.

Fine pose in this capture of the Goldcrest, good sharpness, lighting and composition. The Bg is a little disturbing but this is minor as the lighting and sharpness on the Goldcrest are good enough to make it stand out.

Big is not always better and as ou said here - little can be very beautiful, too!
The golfdcrest is a very cute bird and always very photogenic because of it's vivid yellow band from the top of its head. It's nicely visible here, too and it definitely brings a greaat extra color patch for the picture.
That aside, the DOF here is excellent and makes a beauty of the BG behind your subject.
The bird itself is also presented with very good clarity and with a well controlled exposure.
