Excellent shot, the wet fur really adds alot to this shot Gert and the early morning light is beautiful. Excellent composition and colours too, thanks for sharing this with us. He is a very healthy looking Fox :o)

This is just an excellent portrait of this beautiful red fox. I can only repeat. It is just excellent, and indeed a beauty. The eyes are captivating and fascinating. I love this close up. I wonder what is going through his mind because it seems as if he is scrutinizing you as much as you were watching him. Great clarity, nice point of view and the composition is great because of all the visible and clear details. His whiskers are really an eye-catcher, and it feels as if I can reach out and touch his fur. A delightful image. Thanks for this delightful contribution. I have added it to my list of favourites.

Hej Gert,
A fine close portrait of a young Red Fox, a fine individual that must have got wet in the long vegetation where the Corn crake was hiding. Excellent lighting sharpness and composition.
It would be fantastic to take a shot of the Corn Crake - I hope you succeed!

Hi Gert. Firstly is this the NEW sigma just out that you are using if so how are you liking it. New lens or not this is fantastic. I just loe the pose with the stare in the eyes. The light must have been just right it has given warm colours. Your sharp focusing is first class. A great picture all round. TFS.

A decent portrait? It is a superb portrait. He looks more real than any picture has a right to look. I love the eyes, the nose, the ears, the whiskers, and the wet fur. Marvelous pov and composition.

well this is a beautiful capture if there ever was one,what an excellent looking young fox.Foxes are certainly one of natures more attractive creatures and your photo proves what I say so very well.The colour,detail and the pose are all excellent and even wet the fox looks very dignified.I believe that even with your 500mm lens,you must of been fairly close to this wonderful creature as the finer details really do shine.Thank you kind sir, for giving us all this view of such a lovely creature. Wow! Stunning photo, here. Excellent illunination from the sun, texture of the fur (especially the matted, wet fur in parts), and his bright, curious eyes. His gaze is intense, as if there is something he must do or have. And the colors...vivid and eye-catching.
