Hi all,

Just back from the forest and it was a dull day, overcasted and grey,as I believe I can forget my intentions to capture tonights moon eclips, however the walk was nice and again saw and heard the black woodpecker, but not in reach (anybody with ideas how to approach this one is welcome to reply),anyway I could once again make some nice captures of the usual visitors, hope you like it,

Hi Paul,
Sharp and nice image. The composition is very good and the green moss add a lot.
No idea about approaching the black woodpecker - they are not easy to see... you might want to wait near one of their 'feeding' dead trees.
TFS, Shir

Hello Paul,
I very much like the pose and composition on the mossy branch of this shot of the Great Tit and the ambient light was good enough to make the eye sparkle. The sharpness is where it counts most, so you have made good use of the shallow DOF.
Thanks for sharing this one,
ivan

Hi Paul,
a superb composition with great detail in both bird amd moss! The poor light hasn't stopped you from getting a shot with good colour, well done!
Paul

Hi Paul,
I think you managed great to have this excellent picture done under that hard light conditions.
You've got very good details on the bird's plumage and head.
The composition made with the trunk and the moss works really good here.
DOF created a smooth and plain background to stand out the subject.
Congratulations and thanks for share it.
My best regards,
JM

Love the moss beneath the bird! Good and precise capture! Good job! Cheers, Klaus

Hi Paul,
Prachtig scherp plaatje met veel diepte. De koolmees komt prachtig uit tegen deze achtergrond. Mooie voorgrond met het mos.

Hi Paul,

Very good photo! I like the green moss in front of the tit. Good clear image of tit's head with nice light in bird's eye.

Best regrads,

Hallo Paul
I have seen many photos of these birds, but never felt like saying "Not another one of these Tits" These birds are such beautiful creatures and your posting is no exception. A wonderful capture in a natural pose. The sharpness is perfect, the colours vibrant and so many details to appreciate. Exposure, framing and focus is excellent. Very well done and thanks for sharing.
Kind regards
Anna
