[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Yesterday afternoon I was out for a walk and tried to make some birdcaptures, although I saw a lot, they were not interested in the photographer, however on my way back (driving in car) I met this young bull moose and he was more coorporative,I made loads of pictures before I went home, while the moose still stayed around, hope you like this youngster, have a nice weekend,

Some facts of the antlers of the moose (wikipedia):

The male will drop its antlers after mating season in order to conserve energy for the winter. A new set of antlers will then regrow in the spring. Antlers take three to five months to fully develop, making them one of the fastest growing organs in the world. They initially have a layer of skin called felt which is shed off once the antlers become fully grown. Immature bulls may not shed their antlers for the winter but instead retain them until the following spring.

Hi Paul,

Very impressive capture of Moose (or Elk) in the wild. Though the action has been completely frozen the feeling of movement has been well retained. Good composition and colours, sharp details.

Hello Paul,
Idon't know how many times I have hoped to capture this animal from the car, but have never been lucky enough to get as close a shot as this. The composition and pose among the trees is great and so is the POV where this young bull exposes himself completely.
BTW, when I worked as a translator, I found that the European sub-species is called an Elk, whereas the N. American is the Moose.
TFS this fine shot and betterluck with the birds next time!

Schitterende plaat, Paul!
Zeer mooi licht! Heel scherp en toch merk je dat het beest in beweging is...
Al even goed is het decor. Veel werk om dat in elkaar te zetten:-)
