[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Went for a walk today in our local forest and when I came to closer to the water this dragonfly was warming up on a rock catching the last sunbeams,as the rock was on an angle was quite difficult to approach but managed to make a few shots before he flow away, have no idea about the ID of this dragonfly so if someone got any ID(ea).

Thanks to Ivan (argus) I know the ID of this dragonfly,it is the Aeshna mixta (migrant hawker) more information you can find here.

Picture cropped and sharpened in Lab colors (B/W scale) and resized for posting.

I like the composition and angle of this picture. Although the dragonfly itself at such closeness looks quite disgusting, i must say that it's still very interesting and it blends well with it's background (the ground?). Good colors and DOP. TFS,
Steph

Hi Paul,
you choosed the perfect headline - a real surprise to see this marvelous dragon sitting and so close. I love those impressive blue eyes, phantastic. I also had the great luck to see some of them this year, also had it here.
It's sooooo amazing, sad that they all die now, too cold for them. Bye and thanks, kind regards

Hi,
Zeer fraaie clos-up, prachtige kleuren en mooi scherp.
Ik zie dat je al weet wat voor soort dit is. In het nederlands heet hij een paardebijter.
