This is my second attempt at catching these great birds. I am not having much luck so anyone out there who can advice would be much appreciated. I saw many yesterday while out but could not get close enough for a good shot. Even one that was perched nicley on a pole in a field but i just could not get the position needed.
This one saw me as I tried to approach for shot but within seconds it just flew off. It circled in the clear blue skys and I was hoping it would come back to the same place but no.... Anyway this is the best i could produce with what i had. I am not sure what kind of egales these are and have tried to search the web for eagles in Sweden. What i know is that the increase of eagles here is growing which is great news, also that golden eagles, white tailed eagles, sea eagles and the imperil have been spotted. Not sure which one i managed to get.
I am now on a vengence to the the perfect shot now i know where they are located. |

Hej Demetrio,
It is not easy to photograph Eagles with good detail: one has to be very lucky.
This shot is quite good, a little soft and distant, but unfortunately it is not an Eagle of any species: it is the Common Buzzard (Buteo buteo).
You can tell this by the pattern on the wing underside and tail: your shot is clear enough to show this. In addition the Golden Eagle has six primary feathers at the wing tips ('fingers') while the bird in your shot has five, typical of a buzzard.
TFS,
Regards, Ivan
