Hi all,
Although I did not manage to capture the black woodpecker the last weeks,I think I found a nest site which was build by this bird, probably it will not be used by the black woodpecker this season as they are tend to build a new nestsite every year (this old nestsite will probably be used by another bird),the oval shape, the size and the location (tree in open area, which is not shown in this image, but the nestopening had a clear view of about 20 meters) are specific for the nestsites of the black woodpecker, this will be my last posting for the time being as I will be at sea for a period of about 2 months,on my returnal I will return to TN on a regular bases and I can have a look if this nestsite is in use this season,
Thanks for watching and till then. |

Paul,
A very valid question you pose in the title. Detailed pic that is sharp.
