[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Today a butterfly I haven't photographed before,as well I tried to capture this butterfly from close distance with my 24-70 mm zoom lens,as the butterfly was not disturbed and was busy with feeding I could make a close approach,

I noticed that Ivan posted the same butterfly today, but anyway I like to post this colorfull butterfly.

Brown Hairstreak

The adults emerge in the morning, with males generally appearing a few days before the females. This is a warmth-loving butterfly, and is rarely seen on overcast days. In flight, the adults are easily mistaken for the Gatekeeper, which flies at the same time. Only the female has the distinctive orange markings on the upperside of the forewings.

The males are the more-elusive of the two sexes. Males congregate high on ash trees around the breeding area, feeding from honeydew. They occasionally come down to feed on various nectar sources, such as hemp agrimony. Mating occurs without any discernable courtship, typically high in the trees. The females alternate their time between basking in the warm sunshine, feeding from nectar sources, and egg-laying. Egg-laying sites are typically in sheltered areas at the edges of woodland or hedgerows. Younger growth is favoured, often with a south-facing aspect. The female will crawl amongst the branches of the foodplant, feeling the branches for appropriate sites for egg-laying. If a suitable site is found, then a single white egg is laid on the bark.

Hello Paul,
A great macro!
This is classical razor-sharp capture of a freshly-emerged female Brown Hairstreak seen from an ideal POV in the closed-wing pose.
A real beauty to have in your garden and a fine opportunity well taken.
This species seems to be more common than usual this year so we were lucky to be able to photograph it.
TFS,
Regards, Ivan

Hello Paul,

What a nice shot! You have made good use of the strong light exposing well and rendering a great amount of color tones from butterfly's wings. DOF is well adapted to the subject showing sharp clear details of the whole insect.

Thank you for sharing,
Cristian

Paul, awefully sorry for late reciprocation to your kind comment on my picture of a Flower Beetle. I was out to Goa for a short holiday.
Yes, I saw Ivan's image of the same butterfly. You too have captured this beauty very well. The image is very sharp and the colours are brilliant.
Thanks and regards.
