Went for a short walk in the local forest this afternoon, when I passed this fungi,it looked a bit strange formed,so I thought to make a small portrait of it,I have looked in several fungi books I have, but could not find any ID,maybe someone on TN knows, thanks for watching and have a nice day

Thanks to goran (sgo),I have found the proper ID of this fungi and amended this note,

Gyromitra infula
Gyromitra infula, known as the elfin saddle, is a member of the ascomycete mushrooms found in the northern hemisphere.

The specific epithet is derived from the Latin infǔla, a heavy band of twisted wool worn by priests. It is up to 12 cm high and has a reddish brown folded cap, somewhat saddle-shaped. The stipe, which may reach 12 cm, can be various shades from reddish brown to whitish or even bluish in colour. This fungus can be found in or near coniferous woodland in autumn.

Hello Paul,
I think that is young Gyromitra esculenta. There is consider inedible mushroom. Very good POV and natural colours.
Regards, Pawel

Hello Paul
very beautiful mushroom species from Sweden, its looking interesting, but its colors very beautful. Your macro-shot also great with focus, POV/OOF and composition. Plain BG also very nice. Thanks for sharing, best wishes
Ahmet

Hi Paul,
I like mushrooms and also mushroom photos and this one looks amazing. The pov is very well chosen and the plain bg is nice. i really like the deep dof on the cap and the sharpness as well. i'm agree with Pawel, this is a possible gyromitra esculenta and it is a deadly species.

Hej Paul,

Hello Paul,
I found that this was not described in our fungus books, which is surprising, as gyromitra infula is circumpolar.
You made a fine sharp capture of it from a great pov against an ideal BG. It looks edible but I know that it is poisonous with the same poison as G. esculenta that can be boiled away.
TFS this fine and interesting image,
Ivan

Very interesting specie, and excellent capture you have managed. The details on the brown&white surface are just perfect, my compiments.
Regards, Felipe.

Hallo Paul,
