Indeed the shallow DOF work great, especially on such small subjects. Splendid colors, excellent details, light and POV, too.
Does the fact that it has a built-in IS make it easier for you?

Hermosa composición querido amigo... suaves tonos, BG muy adecuado y perfecto foco con bellos detalles de nitidez como los pelos del insecto y de la flor.
Excelente uso de la luz y atinado encuadre y POV con buena estética.

Now this is the best image I've seen with the new Sony.
The details are nice, clear and sharp.
superb colours, lighting and exposure. DOF is spot on and the POV is good.

Hi Gert,
Fantastic detail here and a great exposure. Really quite a striking image. I like the light on the flower's petals and the soft colours, just beautiful. Great DOF and a lovely clean and smooth background. Great work. The lens looks great, those Sigma lenses certainly have great bokeh.

I try to shoot at lower ISO like this, but there never seems be enough light...or the flower is moving...or the bug is moving.. or... ;-))

Hey Gert, you don't need a macro lens, this is insanely good. I am very impressed.
The detail and sharpness are outstanding, its almost 3D!!
Great composition and OOF background.
