[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is for my Danish friend Bente.
I took this in Uppsala 9/3.
I have seen thousands of ducks and this is the first time I have seen a white duck and it's not a domestic bird. It was together with the normal coloured mallard and act exactly like the others. If it was the domestic bird I should have seen this white mallard many times before.

Sigma 100-300/4.0 HSM EX
ISO 100 - Manual exposure, Raw-format,
One-shot autofocus.
Converted ,contrast and levels, resized to 800 pixels , USM save as JPG for the site.
I used Adobe Photoshop CS for PP

Well done on this capture.
This white duck won't last long, it will fall prey to either land animal or Bird of prey.
Excelent work Gert.

Mike

Hi Gert,
Thanks for your support shown in posting this shot, I really appreciate it ;-))
Beautiful white lady mallard you have here, black-eyed like mine, so she's not an albino either. She really stands out nicely in the shadow here, and the whites are handled beautifully - you must have exposed particularly for her ;-)

Beautiful colors, beautiful picture
congratulations.
TFS

Great shot Gert, Dramatic composition that makes the white duck center stand-out "like a sore thumb"!! Yes, all my local white ducks/geese at the local pond are domestic hybrid clunkers! - Very well done!

Great composition, I've never seen a white one.
Well done.
TFS.

Very good capture and very good composition, the contrast between the white one to the others is great.

Great shot of this albino duck Gert! I've never saw white one before. Looks more like domestic goose than duck [in colour of course ;-)]. Great, very interesting post! TFS!

He looks like a very special party guest. Definitely the centre of attention. Great composition.

Hi Gert, nice capture. She certainly does stand out in the crowd. Good exposure and detail on the subject. Well done.

Nice capture Gert,
I think this is the Aylesbury Duck, named after the town I live in.
We have a few at our local reservoir, and always with the mallards.
Nice shot, I like the drip at the end of the beak.
Thanks for posting

Hi Gert. I made a research on the web for white Mallard. I found this, and this.
I think that if some domestic animals return to the wild they shall be considered as wild animals if they are considered as such by their congeners.
Thanks for this great post.

p.s.: I consider myself as a wild animal who wrote comments on the net...

This is an interesting capture of the white mallard. She certainly looks like she is part of the 'family'.
Now I've joined the DUCK club, I'll have to learn what is a correct duck to post. Is it the same for geese as well? Where do you learn about the correct postings please?
