Picture of a Peacock lily (doftlilja) in my moms garden.
The peacock lily or Abyssinian star (Gladiolus callianthus) is native to east Africa ranging from Eritrea on the Red Sea to Mozambique in the south. Peacock lily originates from East African mountains, between 1200 - 2500 meters (4000 - 8000 ft) high, mainly found in grassy areas and amongst slippery rocks.
The large and flashy florist's glads (varieties of the grandiflorus group) are the most familiar members of the genus, but there are about 250 species of Gladiolus.
The bloom has a star-like shape and at the center there is a prominent purple blotch. They also have a pleasing fragrance. The base of the six flower petals is purple, and forms the dark 'heart'. |

Very nice flower and composition, good textures and DOF. IŽd like to know a completely open flower.
Carmem
Very clear, your focuse is excellent, and the black background was a good choice.

I like this one a lot. The contrast between black and white and the sharpness. Good note too :-)

Hi Peter
This is a lovely lilly. The texture on the petals are very good. & I like the compo too. This monitor I am using is a bit bad, but it seems saturated enough
