[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Red-throated Diver breeds in the northern parts of Eurasia and North America.

It breeds in small ponds and must fly to larger lakes to catch fish.

Unlike other loons the Red-throated does not need to patter on the water's surface on a long takeoff. It is even able to take off directly from land.

Hej Peter,
Fine capture of a Red-throated Diver, a species that I long to photgraph myself.
Superb sharpness and blurred BG and FG, helping to emphasize the bird.
Considering the poor light this is an excellent shot!

Jättefint!

What a beautiful detailed shot of this Red-Throated Diver. It caught my eye right away. You have managed to really make the bird stand out, it is nice and sharp. The photo could be rotated just a tad to the right in order to straighten out that waterline, but other than that it is a perfect shot!

Hi Peter,
This really is a delightful photograph of the Red Throated Diver. A species I have only seen once, on Morecambe Bay in 2005.
your picture is beautifully sharp and full of detail with a nicely blurred background.
Well done,
Regards,
Peter

Hi Peter,
What a magnificent photo. Your extreem low POV is breath taking. I do hope you were able to keep your camera and lens dry. The details on the bird is perfect. The green colors of the OOF bg and it reflection on the water really helps to bring out the wonderful grey and red colors of diver.
TFS,
Niek

Hej Peter
Loons! they have a desolated expression in a way,
Good focus on the bird You have captured the color in a very good way by using the greenish water to get get red throat brighter. (as others already said)
Sjysst!

Peter excellent taken shot and the way it is swimming in the pond is very well shown. TFS ganesh

Beautiful shot of this attractive diver.
Great sharpness and very nice composition.
I think it could have been imporoved slightly by cropping a bit off the top and rotating clockwise a bit to straighten out the waterline.
Chris

Hej Peter,
I've missed this brilliant capture! I wonder where you found this one? Presumably you were in a hide? Very clever, anyway, to get such a sharp and beautiful shot. Excellent colours and it looks so peaceful!
