[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is the first fly I have seen this year.
At least the spring is in Sweden, Today I saw a starling, a small tortoiseshell who rested in the snow with the wings spread. The gulls has return too, And some crokus and snowdrops are blooming. It's still a lot of snow but it's melting fast, it's + 15C and sunny.
And I found this fly on the wall for our theater.
First macro this year.

Technique:
Sigma 180 macro HSM EX + a 36 mm ext. tube.
Handheld camera. Black patch for the left eye.;-)
ISO 200 -Raw-format, One-shot autofocus.
Converted ,contrast and levels, resized to 800 pixels , USM save as JPG for the site.
I used Adobe Photoshop CS for PP

Excelent capture, Gert. The details are great and the DoF is just right.
I'm not sure if you noticed, but the complete shadow on the right would have been a great addition.
Well done.

Mike

Nice Capture Very clean Picture
Well done A+

Stunning macro. The shadow and the light angle contribute to the overall result. I understand it is shot in natural light ?

Congratulations Gert! I know what you feel :-) No flies in Poland now, but I captured few Firebugs as a first macro trophy this spring. Perfect quality and big feeling factor :-)
Could you take few shots of crockuses Gert?

Świetne zdjęcie, rewelacyjna ostrość.
Bardzo dobra praca.

Well, Gert, if you start like that, it seems 2005 flies will be a tremendous vintage. This macro is stunning, not only by it's precision, but also by the composition. You mentionned a theater. This fly sure knows how to behave under the sunlights. Very good director too! Could you book me two comfortable seats for next saturday show :-) Great shot!

Nice shot Gert,
The details are perfect, The shadow looks great, especially the wing.

Hi Gert, gorgeous macro. The details are excellent and I like the way the fly's head is tilted to get a better view of you. Excellent job.

More than great macro, Gert. You know, I am happy to see a fresh fly. Even the shadow of the wing is almost sharp. It is opening the season of hunt for new subjets. Little by little, the birds come back here. Cardinals sing and even people are smilling. Have a good spring!
Thanks.

Beautiful shot Gert, very clear and bright.

Superb macro shot. Amazing detail in this capture. You have managed the lighting perfectly. Nice Work!

Great macro Gert, looks like you nailed it to me! Superb detail. If you could say that a fly can pose?, it almost looks like this fly is giving ya a head-nod! Excellent capture.
