[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Today’s post is taken in the small area Grinduga, quite famous for the rare butterflies you can find there.
I’m quite not sure of this one. It may be a female Green-underside Blue, and if it is, it is a quite rare one. It's a h_ll to id the small blue ones ;-)
Any help to get the right ID would be very appreciate.
I will update the note when have the right ID.

Thanks to Ivan I now have a correct ID.
This is a Green-underside Blue, Klöverblåvinge.

Distribution: Europe except UK, central and northern Scandinavia. Mountains of Algeria and NE Tunisia.
Identification: The underside is a pale silvery blue with small black spots. Basal area is extensively blue or greenish. Male upperside black boarders broaden towards the forewing apex. Female brown with basal blue. Underside forewing has a curving row of spots that uniquely curves towards the anal angle. These spots are also large.
Flight time: Usually April and May although reported in June and even July.
Habitat: Grassy flowery places, often dry in the Mediterranean region. Often amongst scrub or woodland.
Behaviour: Frequently visits flowers but also takes salts from mud, droppings and carrion. We found around 30 individuals (all males) on a dead horse in Greece - too repulsive to approach for photography.

Hello
Nice capture from the Blue Family.superb details and great PoV and lighting. The colours on the butterfly is hghlighted very well.
TFS & Cheers

Hi Gert,
Magnificent capture of this butterfly!
It's pretty good the close approach and sharp details got.
The textures seen on the wings are very rich, and so smooth the transition of its colours.
You managed pretty well the light here, and got a nicely blurred backgorund that stands out the subject.
My compliments and thanks for share it.
Best regards,
JM

Excellent detail, BG and composition.
I must visit Grinduga sometime.

Hälsningar,
Ivan

Det var ett fint kap! Sist såg jag den vid Bråviken för tio år sedan. 25 grader idag men det blåste för mycket för att ta bra fjärilsbilder.

Hi ellis,
This is a superb picture.especially i liked the POV

Hello Gert,
This is really a super shot of a Lycaenidae. I didn't know this species with lesser spots than most of the others. Beautiful and subtle coloration of the wings.
Best regards
Anne

Hi Gert,
ah...how sweet it is. Beautiful capture of this Klaverblauwtje. Extremely rare in the Netherlands, for me this species is a true reminder of summer.
You captured it in a classical way, but very nice. Good use of depth of field. I find it still hard to set a right aperture on a macrolens. It is very depended on the distance to the subject. If you look at my recently posted green toad I had set F11 but still a very shalow dof, because my lens was practically on the animal. Anyway, your image is really fine.
Regards, JAcob

Wooooooooooooooooow Gert,

The detail on the wing here is so good, unbelieveably good! Did you put in some detail with a pencil? :-)

This is one of the best pictures on treknature in my opinion, Gert, straight to my favourites. Congratulations. 5/5

Hej Gert,
WOW, nu är det full fart där uppe tydligen! I didn't know that this one was flying already. It is a real beauty and your capture is great! It looks as if a bird has had a go at it but the colour is beautiful and sharpness is excellent. I like its pose too and the soft background. Well done!

Hi Gert

Another superb butterfly macro from you my friend!
The leveled side POV here really gives a terrific angle forthe beautiful wings of this fellow and also adds a lot of perspective to the BG.
The colors are rich and wonderful and the details are simply impressive.
I really like that differently colored patch from his wings...he looks as if he took it from another species :))))
Lovely work!

Bravo and TFS
Horia

Great images you have in your portfolio Gert and this one is no exception.
Perfect work. Thanks for sharing.
