[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a very common butterfly in Sweden a Green-veined White, Rapsfjäril.
And it is a quite small butterfly with wing span 35-45 milllimeter and one of our early flying butterflies.

Widespread across Europe, Asia including the Indian subcontinent and North America, it is found in Meadows, hedgerows and woodland glades but not as often in gardens and parks like its close relatives the Large and Small Whites which it is often mistaken for. Like other "white" butterflies, the sexes differ. The female has two spots on each forewing, the male only one. The veins on wings of the female are usually more heavily marked. The underside hindwings are pale yellow with the veins highlighted by black scales giving a greenish tint, hence Green-veined White! Unlike these two butterflies it rarely chooses garden cabbages to lay its eggs on, preferring wild crucifers.

Hi GErt,
I saw my first green veined white high up in the mountais in Austria. I'm surprised it also occurs in Sweden. Another great butterfly image of yours. Especially the exposure and sharpness are key features which are really great in your images. It is getting to be an impressive series.

Hi Gert

Ah, the Houdini butterfly. First it disappears and then it returns in all its glorious beauty. I am sure you were looking for the "oops" button after that accidental deletion.

The dandelion and this little critter stand out so well against that beautiful OOF and well isolated BG. The colours are great and the flower is almost blindingly brilliant. The details on the butterfly is superb and the exposure levels was spot-on which ensure excellent contrasts on the insect.
