Hi Gert,
I agree with your this is a beauty. The hairy body is very interesting to see and the drawing on the wings very nice. The fact that you captured so much details on the B'fly makes the photo superb. I like the fact that you left some parts of the plant in the photo as well. A wonderful colored and soft BG, that helps to bring out the B'fly even more.

You're totally right, this female Skipper is a real beauty with most wonderful yellow, brown and black patterns on the inside of her wings.
The way you've managd to capture this small butterfly is perfect again. My compliments.
Like always you did excellent work on sharpness, composition, lighting and for all the perfect depth of field needed to get the butterfly from wingtip to wingtip in perfect sharp focus while the rest of the image is wonderfully soft and therefore the lady Skipper does stand out greatly against the background.
A real joy to look at.

I think this female is a beauty too. Marvellous how you managed to capture her in this situation on the tip of a plant so you had the maximum BBG. Superb quality and excellent composition.

Very clear and beautiful shot Gert.
You seem to find so many butterflies and moths.
We don't see many butterflies at all down here,and not as many moths as in the North Island.

This is indeed a very beautiful shot of a beautiful skipper.
The warm tones of the butterfly contrast superbly with the green background.

Hello Gert,

This is perfect! Well seen, captured and presented! A high quality image with great artistic value!

Composition:

Excellent! I love the way you avoided the boring middle of the frame. The slight tilt towards the left created the necessary empty space in front of the subject. The background is perfect! It isolates the skipper very nicely. Somehow, to me it looks like the skipper has eyelashes. The plant in the lower part of the picture gives the butterfly some support. Well done!

Colors:

The colors look natural and make a great combination with the green background.

Contrast:

The well adjusted contrast defines great textures in the wings.

Exposure:

Exposure was perfectly handled. The details were well preserved in both highlights and shadows.

Focus:

Excellent focus on the subject! By shooting perpendicularly on the wings you achieved a great DOF and kept the whole subject within the area of sharp focus. The details are very sharp.

It's an outstanding work of art! Thank you for sharing!
