Hi Gert,

First of all thanks for your 600th posting,it is a nice one with superb sharpness and colors,its a bit busy in the BG,but it is nicely blurred (maybe with PP),indeed not so nice to destroy your hide and steal your belongings and hope that that it is only one time and you can proceed with your project,can understand if your participation gets less regarding your health,but hope to see your pictures and comments for a long time to come,regards,

This one once again deserves a special round of applause and because it is your 600th post the trophy as well. I fancy this one a lot. Nice bright and beautiful colours and patterns, of this daintly looking bird. The photo give me the Xmas feeling, when I look at it.

This is another wonderful shot of this cute bird with such sharp details and lovely colours on its plumage. Superb lighting, exposure, focus and DOF. I like the natural surrounding and the pose. Excellent POV and very nicely composed. Kudos.

Congrats on the 600th post of the goldcrest, i am sorry about ur health problem.
the resolution and the contrast is held sytrongly due to the 70-200 L, i guess, inspite of the backlit situation.
nice compositoin and a catch light in the eye.

Dear Gert,

my compliment, my compliment, your 600th bird is a whopper! These are tiny and even more nervous birds than the Long tailed tit, they cannot be attracted easily, but you achieved this wonderful pic.
I really weep with you that vandals had to destroy your hiding tent. The phenomenon vandalism is not new: I remember vandalizing more than50 years ago myself for--- fun...After all this time I'm still ashamed of this. But later, as a young teacher, I profited from my personal experience, I knew how to deal with "casseurs".

Hi Gert

So sorry to hear of your worsening problems with your hands; how frustrating that must be. You have my deepest sympathy. But let me also say that your work here on TN and your comments to my posts over the years have all been encouraging and now I have a (D)SLR after maybe 15 years of no photography. For that I sincerely thank you.
Congratulations on your 600th, they are a pretty little species and its well captured. A busy background for sure, but just like my finch, this is where they live.
I hope you can keep photographing for many years to come and please keep doing the occasional post even if you can't type, people will understand.

I am sorry that you are still waiting for your operation on your wrists. I had hoped you might have had it done by now. I have friends who have had the operation, and I know it has been a success for them - so I hope it will be soon for you.

We have similar specie here and I can’t ever take decent picture of those tinny and fast moving birds. They are much beautiful birds and this is an excellent capture of it, so detailed, well exposed and composed. I'm sure that it wasn't an easy one... Thanks again!

I love these Goldcrests. I think we have similar here but tough to get a good view as you mention, but you got this fine shot! Great POV, focus detail, and color.
