I think you saved this one especially for me, because If you posted it earlier I would not have been able to appreciate it and that is way you did not post it earlier. A spectacular and vibrant close up of this Blue Tit. Really lovely portrait. You have captured this bird well and the detail is very good. I like the variation of colours and how they blend in with one another. The tiny snowflakes, the blink in the eye and the blue cap just makes this more unique. Like always this was a pleasure to look at. Thanks for sharing and well done.

This is a real beauty Ivan!
Like you said the reflected lighting is fabulous and creates no annoying shadows or burnt-out areas!
The colours are rich but natural.
Impeccable sharpness, detail and clarity.
I love the little specks of snow on its body :)
Great DOF that blurs the BG but keeps all the bird in perfect focus.

Much better than mine a few days ago.
300x1,6x1,4=672mm focal length and a very good result. I never used this lens but I guess it might be a very good lens for little bird purposes?

Excellent Tit image Ivan!
Its perfect. The detail, color, comp, POV/pose, isolation from BG, all perfect. Even the lighting is very pleasing and I like the blue gray BG through the trees. I'm saving this in my favorites. Thank you and bravo!

Yes I van I do agree with you about "poor" lighting conditions...they can work in both ways...and in this case they worked for you, giving the colours the pastel look which they are in this light...as opposed a somewhat brighter yet not necessarily better deep saturation. And you detail is remarkably high, but then again the Canon and lens lend itself to this method. It is one of their trademarks...and when a good eye, a knowledgeable eye is attached, the end result is quite predictable...Very nice Ivan...

Hello Ivan, that is a lovely capture of a fantastic bird. I love the wintery colours, very unsaturated, with the almost blue pastel background in between the twigs. It is sharp and lovely, and we can even see the red buds in the branches. This is a very nice picture, very well composed and very artistic. Thank you!

Wow! This is a wonderful picture of a really cute Blue Tit! Being from Quebec where this species didn't exist, I'm always please to see a picture of it on TN :-)

Colors looks very natural and I like the bg showing us the environment of the bird and bringing a 3D effect on the image... Details are impressive on the feathers and you took an excellent POV to shoot it!
