Today again a different posting,a picture of some moose dung which I found on this morning early walk, unfortunately I missed the moose this time, but maybe a next time, please read the following article which I found in a Norwegian newspaper (on internet),maybe I can go in business as well :)!!!!
Tourists have bought pieces of the Berlin Wall and far tackier souvenirs, so why not moose dung? A hopeful marketeer in Telemark hopes to cash in on the brown droppings Norwegian moose leave behind.
Baard Kjetil Venhaug from Heddal in Telemark shows off some of the moose dung he hopes to sell to tourists.
Baard Kjetil Venhaug from Heddal in Telemark thinks he's hit upon the hottest new product of the upcoming tourist season. He plans to scoop up moose dung from local forests, varnish it and pack it in cellophane, and sell it to tourists.
You bet. Venhaug told newspaper Telen that he got the idea when someone else managed to sell Norwegian rocks to foreigners passing through.
"So I thought that it must then be possible to sell anything," Venhaug said.
He thinks German tourists will make up his biggest market. They've often shown great interest in Norwegian moose and can be spotted taking pictures of highway signs in Norway warning of moose crossing the road. Sometimes they pinch the signs themselves.
Stuffed moose have also been a big seller in souvenir shops, along with key chains and copies of the highway moose signs.
Venhaug already has been collecting moose dung, which he dries at home before varnishing and packaging it. Does he think he'll get rich off his moosie-doo-doo project?
"Well, to be honest, I don't really think so," he told Telen.
