Hello Ulla,
Very nice capture of this crow. Excellent POV, DOF and focus. Great detail of the plumage. That is perhaps an unwanted bird but it is also a very beautiful one.
Cheers,
Mariki

Hi Ulla
Good capture of what, to me, is a special bird. When I see them I know I have arrived in the Highlands of Scotland. Having said that, last summer I was going to photograph two on the Isle of Canna and realised they were eating a Corncrake chick, which, as you probably know, are very rare here.
Great exposure and framing.

I am surprised to notice some similarities between the Crows we have posted today, Ulla. The basic colour scheme is the same -- dark head, grey chest and dark plumage with a touch of metallic blue on the shoulder.
This is a very sharp and crisp shot with the "thief" at work.
In our country, its behaviour and even cawing styles are interpreted as harbingers of events good and bad.
In the hills from where I come, the crows are fully black like Rooks.

Excellent composition, Ulla! Great colour and details, nicely framed.
TFS!
Hhej Ulla,
kråkorna must also have some food but they often steel the whole tallow-ball.
Well exposed with good sharpness and details.
Well done.
Nu är det tydligen slut på det vackra vårvädret, det har
varit gråväder med regn i ett par dagar nu. :-(

Well, wanted or not, they'll go on wisiting you as long as you keep on hanging those food balls around Ulla, they are quite wise birds, also have beautiful and showy plumages, as is evident from your present posting. Also obvious, they do like your food stuff my friend!
Cheers,
Mehmet

Dad taught em how to make suet sticks...he carved them from medium sized tree branches and then drilled holes in them small enough yet large enough if you know what I mean..And in that way he had lots of room for filling and didn't have to do it often becuase the birds seemed to enjoy pecking at it...Well done Ulla and in this low light it brings out the differing colours well...

Hi Ulla,
This is the first time I have seen a Hooded Crow. He may be a thief but he is very beautiful. Great pose as he's looking for something to steal. Wonderful colors. Sharp sharp details of the face and plummage.

Hi Ulla
Great shot of this crafty bird. You have really caught his character. Lovely details in the feathers and great composition.
It is annoying when the little birds lose out. I once had a squirrel make off with a whole bag of peanuts. Mind you it all works out in my garden now - the hedgehogs eat the bird food and the birds eat the hedgehog food

Hola Sra. Ulla.
Great Image, excellent note. I guess Crows behavior are the same everywere. The are very smart birds I know that. They are always robing food.

I saw a few 'Hoodies', as they are known in Britain when i was on the Isle fo Skye last year, very different to the ones we have here in the South.
This is good shot, nice detail and sharp focus, it's interesting to see the behaviour of him trying to steal that food ball..

Salut Ulla
Belle photo avec une belle composition. Le corbeau est un oiseau méfiant donc difficile à photographier. Le détail du plumage montre bien la bonne exposition.
merciet au revoir...JP,

Hi Ulla.
We have many birds of this species in the city near my apartments but I have not so good pictures of them. You are luckier. Splendid specimen with terrific reproduction of the bird feathers and other details. I like branch patter and its details\sharpness a lot. Excellent picture.
Alexei.

Hello Ulla, what a great picture and how I envy you to have many species of crows. Here we have the black crow and that's it, with the raven. I love you picture of this one in a branches, eating like a pig the bird's suet. The way it's looking at the ball it seems to be thinking to eat it all. Beautiful colours of this bird, I like it very much. thank you,
Francine
Hi Ulla,
Yes, these birds are "smarter than the average bear" :)
From the same family as the Blue Jay (Corvidae), I've spent alot of time watching their behavior..
Very good detail, color, DOF, and the exposure looks great on my monitor. The dense branches of this thicket frame the bird well IMHO also.
Howard
