it's great to see the spring birds has arrived to Skåne,
I have seen a couple of them here to but not many since we have winter again, yesterday we got 20cm of wet snow.
This is a beautiful picture with very sharp details and lovely colours. Well composed with a nice POV.
Very well done.

Beautiful Siskin image Ivan. Drat the bud but as you say the bird shows well, very well indeed. The sharp plumage details are superb and with the pleasing pose and surrounding blurred BG the image is very fine. Tfs Richard

Very sharp photo of this Siskin!
Fine detail in the feathers and great clarity.
Natural colours and great light to show them off.
Superb DOF that separates bird from BG really well.
Good composition too.
Only nit is the bud in the FG but I expect it would have been hard to avoid it and it's not very noticable anyway.

It is a slightly off true green and true yellows yet remains as seen and natural. The particular combination of colours are pleasing to the eye...the bird looks as though he could care less:-) Little did he know you were the one taking the image:-)

Siskins are very beautiful passerine birds with small body and yellowish coloured. In this winter, I saw them only one time. Your are more lucky, as I remember your previous shots. I have seen this specie only once in my life (re : picture called busy bird feeder) but they never came back since.; maybe that I'll be luckier this spring. They are wonderful creatures and this is an excellent portrait with superb details, good exposure and composition. They are strange birds that look a bit as a mix between American Goldfinch and House finch female :) Thanks,

The lilac bud is a slight distraction but it in no way detracts from the superb sharp details that you have captured of this wonderful siskin..The back ground is perfect and really highlights the subject.
I am thinking of buying a new lense and you have answered a lot of my questions with your use of the 300mm and 1.4x at f5.6..Its a very impressive combination in your hands.

Loot and I was away for a while celebrating our 27th wedding anniversary and in this time I missed out on some lovely images. This Male Siskin of yours is one of them. The different layers of colour and markings in the plumage are just great. The composition is superb and the pose great. The techniques applied and insight is flawless. The only nit I have is the blurred piece of greenery in the foreground which is a little disturbing to the eye, but further than that is this a lovely image which I enjoyed looking at. Thanks for sharing this delightful photo.
