This is a follow up from yesterday. I took this 1.5 hour later than yesterdays post.
The broods of the Golden Eye are about 2-3 days old and the can already swim and dive. This one is looking for its mother who already laying in the grass and calling for the young ones. See Workshop

They were about 3-4 meters away and I was hiding behind a tree and had to very silent and quiet.
This is not so sharp but I want to share it anyway, they are cute. I hope you like it.

Technique:
Sigma 100-300 /4 EX HSM, Fill-in flash
ISO 200, Raw-format, One shot Autofocus
Converted, Levels/Curves, Contrast, Crop, resized to 800 pixels, converted to sRGB save as JPG for the WEB. I used Adobe Photoshop CS2 for PP.

Adorable! Really love the shallow DOF and contrasty background. Perhaps a bit too much sharpening around the eye and beak?

The exposure is spot on. I think the sharpness is fine, the details stand out well. Well composed. The mother calling looks a bit aggressive.
