Hello Neighbour,
Welcome back! Hope you had a nice trip north.
This Golden Plover has the most beautiful plumage I have seen on any Plover.
The light from the rear is like a spot-light in this image, illuminating subtle colours.
What's more, there is also a catch-light in the bird's eye.
The bird and the rock are complementary and the neutral BG highlights them both.
Thanks for sharing this truly beautiful capture of a bird I have never seen before.

very good shot, nice composition, good posture of bird. quite strong sun light makes dark shadows and oversaturated areas but still all details can be seen.

I wish I could hear him! This is one of my favorite poses - a bird standing on a rock with his mouth wide opened in song. Beautiful lighting showing off his wonderful plummage. Superb details, beautiful background and a wonderful composition.

How do you capture this type of lighting in your camera? This thing always puzzles me both in case of you and Alexei. Is it use of better lens? A superb capture of this beautiful Golden Plover. Methinks as if you are patient enough, as I am NOT, you can get a good pose such as this which raises the bar Ivan. You take an ordinary bird, for you not me perhaps, and you engage him in a dual of who will outwit or outwait the other...and all the time your camera is at the ready..or perhaps clicking a few off as you go...this is how I do...I have a dozen or so at least of a great shot like this and wait for that perfect moment...Very good, but then it is Ivan eh?!
