Ulla's resolute last word on why she can't contemplate severing links with TN kept on ringing in my mind in the last 4-5 days of my self-imposed abstinence from TN until I finally succumbed this morning and went on to post my 701st picture, Ivan.
So here I am, looking at this wonderful picture of an adorable young fellow and savouring every bit of it.
Despite distractions, you managed to get this young guy in sharp focus and immaculate detail against the wonderful blue sky.

2 winters in a row have seen a Shrike where i live only 1 and for the longest time didn't know what it was as not common in our area.. TfS a lovely capture on this fellow..

Ivan I am puzzled..About 1/3rd of my images come out with the sky such as this in colour...and I am not at all certain it is what I really see....I did a few dozen images yesterday and many came out with this sky colour..is it normal? Not a critique but perhaps building into one depending on the answer...which is eluding me...and blue is not the only colour which seems just a tad out ...and I cannot for the life of me "fix" it in PP....There is either a factor I am missing or it is just something I am not seeing.

Hi Ivan. This was a lucky find and getting so close to get this fine close up. You have captured the young one with fine detail in the feathers and natural colours. It stands out so well against the blue sky .I had a look at the male its a beautiful looking bird. well done TFS.

Hoy pensé en tí Ivan :-)) Ya sabes que no soy especialista en aves, pero la semana pasada localicé un nido de Caprimulgus ruficollis. Las crias están prácticamente en el suelo. Es espectacular ya que la madre aguanta encima de ellos hasta que casi estás encima de ella. Hace unos días publiqué una foto de este ave, que es la madre de esos dos polluelos, aunque entonces no había descubierto el nido aún.
Hoy hemos superado los 37ºC es esa zona, el calor hoy es aplastante !!!

I am still in field trip in southern coast of Turkiye. I visit TN rarely in last days. Your last post wonderful with focus, POV, colors and eyes contact. Nicely composed. Outstanding image of the young bird. Few bird families of the species live near my garden. However I had not opportunity to take shot from close-distance. You are luckier (and I think more skillful) photographer and managed to take an amazing shot with terrific sharpness and details. I like scene at whole a lot as well as excellent DOF and framing.
