| These small polypores seem to like their stub a lot. Usually the polypores are much larger. These polypores are the smalles ones I have ever seen. |

Hi Monica,
the fungi which your photo shows aren't Polyporus; they belong to the genus Trametes Fries (1836) (very probably), Coriolopsis Murrill (1905) or Funalia Patouillard (1900).
Identifying this kind of specie isn't difficult, but I need to see some fruit-bodies (basidiomata) from closer up.
