[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is one of the smallest tits in Europe, the Coal tit (Parus ater ), that mostly lives in the big pine forests. They are quite hard to spot as they normally move around in the tree tops. It is a mazing that such a small bird can survive the cold winters here in Sweden.

Here in our garden we feed the birds from the end of october until april or so. Every day we have 4 of these small beauties feeding just a couple of meters from our kitchen window and they are almost domesticated.

As I recently have done some surgery in my shoulder I had to lay down in the snow for this photo, just 2 meters away from the tit. It also makes it a bit hard to type at the moment so this has to be a brief comment.

Hello Bengt,
Nice close up of our Svartmes, the POV, lighting and details being superb. You must have been very close to achieve this and it looks like the sun was out. Here it has ben dark and grey for over two weeks:-((
TFS and I hope you recover well from your surgery.

Hello Bengt !
Such a wonderful portrait of this tit ! You managed to capture excellent details on the feathers, nice natural colors, beautiful composition and POV, and I also like the expression on the tit's face, nice light in the eye. Very well done !
Valerie.

Have a Happy New Year 2009!

Hej Bengt,
Du har lyckats få en riktig närgången bild av Svarten,
ibland är de mycket närgångna speciellt när man hänger upp ny mat.
Well composed with fine POV and very good sharpness.
I hope for a speedy recovery and good and healthy 2009.
Gert
