| This kind of fungi, piptoporus belutinus in latin, ticka in Swedish, grows on trees, especially birches. This tree is dead, but the fungis on it are very vital. I am fascinated by those fungis, but I do not know how to pick them, as they are so hard and fixed to tree. |

Hi Monika,
you should try to pick them togheter with a piece of the bark. On dead trees, the bark comes off easier.

HI Monika, do you eat these fungi? After seeing and reading about some of the fungi posted here on TN I'd be too scared to even toiuch them!!:)
Have you got a macro button on your camera? If so, use it and get closes to them to shoot them next time. I'd like to see these closer as they look very interesting.

A nice fungi shot. I am not much help in the fungi department when it comes to ID's or information. Look interesting, but not enought to try and eat it. Good Luck!
