Knipa in Swedish , but the english name is perfect for this bird "goldeneye".
We have alot of them in our small river in the winter but when the spring is here most of them disappear, but a few stay .

I used my Sigma 70-200 /2,8 HSM. With HSM you can use autofocus , it's fast enough ,panning the bird and "aim and pull the trigger"

ISO 400 -2/3 ev. Neat Image. Raw-format.
Converted in Photoshop CS.

Another great capture Gert.
Great shot you made, fantastic colours sharpnes, reflection, freesing, Well I think all is good, very good job Gert

Magnifique photographie de cet oiseau.
Le prendre comme ca en pleine action était une excellente idée.
Félicitations Gert !

Great capture of the action in this one ;-) These black and white birds are so hard to expose right, but you did a good job here. Pity he weren't entirely out of the shadow, which would have set off the wings better (whereas the spray looks gorgeous against the shadow). If you were close enough, fill flash might have given a bit more detail in the black head, but it's clean and sharp as is ;-)

Excellent, it's fantastic that you managed to keep a good focus on the eye. The sense olf movement is very well captured and the reflection and frozen water drops are appealing. Well done.

Great panning with very good sharpness on the bird, till now I didn't succeede to do this kind of picture, well done!

Another quite spectacular one, Gert. A great sensation of motion results from (a) your use of shutter speed and (b) your timing, catching this particular split second of the birds movement. The crisp reflection and the water droplets are the icing on the cake. I guess you can tell I really like this one, thanks for sharing.

Wow... que gran imagen Gert.
Impecable captura, excelente colorido y perspectiva, gran reflexion y nitidez... y a sólo 1/200 seg.!
Me encanta esta foto!

Wow... that great image Gert.
Impeccable capture, excellent colorful and perspective, great reflection and clearness... and only 1/200 to sec.!
I enchants this photo to me!

Gert, Perfect take-off of Bucephala clangula. The light got a bit the better of you, some hot whites and the green head is not clear, but the action is tops and the overall silver of the water is great with the duck.
Nicely done.

Another great action shot.
The blurred background is really efficient, giving a speed feeling.
Great reflexion in the water.
Congratulations.

Well frozen action picture Gert. Colours are very nice and the clever cropping leaves him enough space to get airborne.

It' looks like he's walking on water, very nice work.

Well done...and boy this is just how I see them and capture them ...taking off low over the water. You did a nice job with a difficult exposure light/dark duck, light/dark water. The reflection of the Common Goldeneye is super and really makes this photo special.

Excellent shot, Gert. Beautifull action has been captured here. I like the reflexion as well. Very nice.

Great shot very good details I like it

Nice File effect, another great shot !
May be using maximum aperture and increasing the shot if you can keep the sharpness...
Nice Pict.
