Stare In swedish.
I took this in rainy morning in April.
It's a very common bird, it will come in March-April and stay until Oct-Nov.
I think everybody has seen this bird.
It has a very exotic look, with the colouful plumage. Some people thinks it's a pest but I like it like the most Swedes.

Great shot very good details.
Points will follow

This bird is officially out of the closet ! ... just kidding ... well, they were a bit darker where I come from, these Sturnus vulgaris, few dots yes but more plain in plumage ...

Amazing detail and focus. great picture. Well done

I am amazed the nice starlings you have in the northen countries, they ae just beautiful. I like very much when the subject is at the limit of the back of the DOF. It makes the detail of the ground in the first plane clear & fantastic.

Your picture shows us how beautifull is this common bird.

Great shot Gert! You've shown the coloration & distinct markings in this Starling very well. Think the foreground inclusion in the shot is a nice plus also. I see you're using the elements.. So, how close were you to this one? Great post!

Very nice portrait of this attractive but overlooked bird. It's a nice shot and you must have got dirty getting this one.

Crawling on all fours for this POV? I haven't seen this very common bird of yours before. I checked my book, they are found in my area but very rare, more frequent at the coast. Very nice colors. Well captured, Gert.

I photographed one yesterday, too much far on a branch.
They are really beautifull, those common birds and they can imitate the song of other birds. Like the house sparrow, they arrived here by boat coming from Europe a few centuries ago.
Nice picture, Gert. Great compo and DOF. And the POV, I can imagine your posture when you took it :)

This is another beauty! I especially like the low angle that this was taken at.

Thanks for posting

A very nice shot.
Good composition and sweet colours.
Great job you did.

A much under rated bird when viewed in the right light like here they positivly glow.
good sharp image cropped to just the right place. Only minnor nit would be the single strand of dry grass sticking up behind the legs should be cloned out.
