Bohemian Waxwing ( Swe Sidensvans , L Bombycilla garrulus ).This I took through my bedroom window.
A very beautiful bird who is very common in Sweden , but you will not seen in the summer but
In the autumn it will come in big numbers and eat berries specially from the rowan tree.
It’s very acrobatic. It can hang up side down and like a humming-bird it can stand still in the air and pick up berries from the tree.
The plumage is so smooth and soft it looks like it has get to much neat image.
The Swedish name is “ sidensvans” free transl silk-tail

Description
19-22 cm. A sleek, gray-brown, crested bird. Similar to Cedar Waxwing but larger, grayer, and with conspicuous white wing patches and rusty (not white) undertail coverts

Gert, The B. waxwing is a beautiful bird indeed. You captured a wonderful position and composition.
The neat image made the bird too soft, lost out on the feathers.
Well done

Mike

Una adorable presentacion... creo recordar una similar en TE cuando nos tomamos unas vacaciones aquí.... jejeje.
Tal vez el Neat Image fue algo excesivo sobre el cuerpo del ave... sólo un punto de vista.

Beautiful capture of a bird I'd very much like to get "under my belt" but haven't seen around yet. I tend to agree with Ricardo on the NeatImage issue, but otherwise it's a great capture.

Very Neat! It looks like a painting! Good job!

Salut Gert!
Ici on les appelle: Jaseurs des Cèdres. J'aime bien cet oiseau. Ils setiennent souvent en groupe.
Bonne composition et un point de vue original.
De l'excellent bouleau: image et note.
Merci

Hi Gert ?
Great capture! in the right moment.
The photo is very very clean, i mean too clean :)
I agree with Ricardo about the noise, the NI took some important details.
I like the hot colours, and the DOF is fantastic.
Sharpness: *** ;)
I enjoyed it very much, thanks for posting.
Well done

Incredible shot. Very nice.

Just delicious, I really enjoyed this one. This besides the quality has a gorgeous composition, that makes it look as a chinese silkwork. If I had to build a scenary for this bird, I wouldn have imagened such a beautiful one. Maybe it is a bit to filtered, but I like it this time. Congratulations and to my Fav.

Beautiful looking bird its colour and pose. Composition is very nice. Lose of detail here through neat image. Sometimes if I pass an image hard through that software IL clone back in the subject or part of it to retain the detail. The overall effect though is quite nice. Well done.

Gert, It's a great shot showing those red tips on the secondary wing feathers. And this birds definitely in the vertical..I think they do this to keep the blood flowing to their heads so they don't pass out! ;-)

Tout simplement superbe, la composition, la technique, le sujet, tout y est.
Merci pour la note technique.
Félicitation.

Stunning Gert. beautiful image with great pose and interesting notes. Well Done

Beautifull Gert. I love the pose and the colours especially. Realy a lovely bird. Te NI did make it a bit soft. Still a lovely shot though.

I agree with Ricardo about Neat Image, it was just a bit too much. I'd like to see to original shot.
Great colors, superb pose.
Well done.
TFS.

Gert
This is SUCH a lovely little birdie, I know it well from pics, but would love to see it myself and shoot it. I love the soft plumage and the upside down pose and red berries are superbe
Well done!

Very attractive bird and a great pose and composition. I have to agree that the NeatImage application has softened the plumage to much, but it's still a very nice shot.

You lost some detail with NI, but then you were left with a beautiful soft "waxy" image which I like a lot.

Very well done and thanks for posting

Wonderfull capture Gert ! splendid colours and sharpness,i like the point of view and the beautifull DOF,
Well done !

Oooh very very pretty! :) Colours and composition are wonderful! The only fault I can find with this is the background which should be more out of focus, in my opinion.

Amazing pic this is ... Very smooth. Extremely well done. Neutral, contrast-rich and still pleasant on the eyes. The exposure and PP is so well done that it's almost unbelievable.

The subject has maximum contrast: black in the tail and white in the plumage. The overall brightness of the subject is a little bit less than the background, which in combination with the depth of field creates a warm, almost intimate portrait in the foreground, but yet open, spacious in the background.

Composition is good: there's a strong emphasis on the diagonal which makes the composition more exciting, without getting too busy or abstract.

I just love the ochres, which in combination with the warm green, that forms a complementairy contrast with the accent of the red berries, really makes this portrait come alive.

P.S.: You have a keen eye and great control both over the camera and post-production.

I HAVE ONLY ONE ADVICE FOR YOU GERT !
ROTATE YOU CAMERA CLOCKWISE RATHER THAN CONTERCLOCKWISE WHEN DOING VERTICAL!
SO YOUR PICTURES WILL BE RIGHT SIDE UP !

Just joking ;o)
It's a beautiful picture. Most colors are neutral even the yellow leaves which I should call amber, except for the red berries and few patches on bird's body that stand out brightly.
Perfect exposure and perfect fill-in flash.
Focus is a little soft on the bird... ;o)
Joking again, I made that mistake on Donald Lapointe (hibou) picture of the same bird and he explained me why the feathers look this way. And you picture is confirming his explanations.
Interesting composition and nice blured BG. But I am still unconfortable with the upside-down position....
Can I make a WorkShop Please !!! ;o)
Great picture and TFS.
