This is a fine capture of a Ural Owl.
This is super sharp and well composed and despite the poor light stands out well.
This bird is one I long to see and photograph myself.
As my son is moving to Uppsala this spring, I will probably have the chance.

This is a simply stunning post!
A truly beautiful owl and a very patient and brave one ;) I couldn't belive it when i read you notes :) What kind of it to let you take this lovely shots from a close distance.
The details managed here are impressive and very sharp, the OPV is excellent and the eye-contact with the charming subject is exceptional!
Also the DOF you chose here is impeccable, isolating the subject very nicly from the BG.

I think you showed us quite an impressive series of pictures so far here on TN. Also this one. The contrast of the owl with the dark background is great. The owl looks really 'caught in the action'.
