[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This cute and for Sweden so big toad - but it is a frog, I have been informed by an expert here on TN - Thanks a lot!- lived among and under my potplants in my garden. I took the picture in September and fell in love with Padde, as I called it, immediately. I hope he or she survives the winter and that we will meet again the coming summer. Usually we have very tiny little frogs in our garden. This one was more than one decimeter long (legs uncounted!)

nice and sharp, well done,

Dear Monica,
interesting picture of an amphibian well concealed! It's really Rana temporaria, a frog and not a toad (toads have the big glands above the eyes). I just took a shot of this same frog species ten minutes ago in my yard, in February 28, that is three weeks early. But the rule holds: the first evening with increasing daylength, at least 8°, rain will bring about the wandering of amphibians to their spawning grounds.
Thank you for posting your pic!
Cheers,
Dietrich
