[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
My oldest slide is this one: Maggots of Drosophila melanogaster (Diptera: Dew fly or Fruit fly, Taufliege, Drosophile). The background is black yeast & corn meal food. This is not a natural setting (Uhhgh) but these larvae would be hidden inside rotten fruit. The larvae are of about 2 mm length, so a maximal extension of the optics bellow was needed as well as lighting with two sidewise flashes . One person had to keep the crawlers from going astray, the other one took the picture.

Ich kann es fast nicht glauben, wenn ich mir das Datum der Aufnahme anschaue. Für die damalige Zeit eine wohl hervorragende Aufnahme.Sie leuchten noch immer, die Larven der Taufliegen.

Maybe it is not the most beautiful animal on earth but yuo presented great treknature shot. Rare object here. I have never seen maggots on treknature. Sharpnes is pretty good, buckground has a little bit srange color.
