Native to Europe, Western and Central Asia, Salix caprea produces silvery catkins in spring. The male salix and the female are different plants. The male Goat Willow (on the picture) is yellow at pollen release.
Salix caprea occurs in wet environment, such as riverbanks, like this one growing close to the River Aar.

Les beaux chatons, pleins de pollen en plus, c'est une très jolie photo, Anne! J'aime beaucoup le fond bleu, et les reflets argentés des doux poils des chatons. Excellente macro, merci!

Liebe Anne,
schwungvoll komponierte Darstellung der blühenden Weidenkätzchen in monumentaler Nähe aus der Perspektive einer Biene. Vor dem dunkelblau schattigen Hintergrund kommen die pelzigen Blütenstände im Streiflicht bestens zur Geltung. Besonders schön, wie der rechte Blütenstand sich öffnet.

C'est une espèce très connue mais c'est surtout une très belle macro bien composée ; la bonne profondeur de champ, l'angle de prise de vue et l'éclairage permettent d'apprécier pleinement la finesse des détails grâce à une excellente opposition sur l'arrière plan.
