Size: 13-18mm

This fly can be recognised by the special patterns on its body: stripes on the thorax and chess-like patterns on the abdomen. It also has red eyes .
The one on the picture is posed on a Myositis (forget-me-not) flower.

Guten Morgen Anne,
auch schon auf dem 'Nature Track'?! Große Blendenöffnung und trotzdem weitgehend exzellente Schärfe durch die präzise Fokussierung. Die Vergißmeinnicht liefern dezent die für die Gesamtkomposition wichtigen Farbtupfer.

A wonderful macro depicting a flesh eater on a delicate Forget-me-not flower!
The composition, sharpness and lighting are superb and show the Flesh Fly from the best POV against a fine neutral BG.

Hallo Anne!

Dein Bild ist bestechend schön! Die Schärfe ist ausgezeichnet und legt herrliche Details an den Tag. Aber besonders gut finde ich die Belichtung. Das eher dunkle Bild strahlt viel Kraft aus und der Kontrast zwischen dem leuchtenden Blau des Vergissmeinnicht und dem Anthrazitschwarz der Fliege ist herrlich.
