Idea Leucone. An Easter Sunday at the Papiliorama at Chietres/Kerzers. The 500mm is great but with a distance of 2.5m, I think a macro lens would be better. But I don't have one.

Nice portrait of the butterfly, to bad that it's a little over exposured on the wingtips.

As you said, a macro lens would probably have been better but we have to use what we have so well done any way.

Thanks for sharing.

Nice shot Antonio,
good details and a nice tight crop. well captured, well done.
Thanks for posting

Nice macro Antonio.
Good composition and colours. Maybe you need a macro lens, but try to use Extensions tubes. I used it with my Sigma 100-300/4.0, before I bought my macro lens and with good results.
Well done.

Belle composition pour ce joli papillon. Le fond assez neutre le met bien en valeur.
Well done !

Hi Toni, these tree nymph butterflies make a good photo opportunity, there is a little overexposure but detail, colour and DoF are good. As Gert said you could try extension tubes as a cheaper alternative to a macro lens.

Good shot Antonio!
The butterfly is beautiful, but I think this picture is a bit too close to the object it self, you sould have give the picture more space, that way the butterfly would come out sharper and you would have more BG that is not bad in a macro photo.
The colors are good except the hot spot on the wings.
The picture is great but can be much better.
Try next time!:)

WellDone!

Appréciation personnelle de la photo: bien réussie malgré les difficultés techniques
Bon impact visuel.
Pertinence de la photo pour le site: excellente
Appréciation personnelle pour la note: pas assez élaborée, selon moi.
Merci Antonio.

Stunning shot Toni, the black certainly stands out against the white/cream. Good job!

A pretty good job for not having a macro lens. Beautiful full frame composition,

J'aime beaucoup le relief et le fond vert tendre.

Very good macro Antonio,
DOF and composition are wonderful.
TFS...

Its a nice capture. The details shows nicely but it could be sharper. Pity the head is in the shadows. I agree with Gert, before getting an expensive macro lens try the extension tubes. I still use them on my 100-400mm and I don't think I will get a macro lens soon. Very well done.

Hello Toni, very ncie image. The composition is very good and I like the POV. The body is a little soft in focus I feel, but very good shot. Well done, especially with the lens!

Antonio, even without a macro lens you did great.

I like composition and pov. The bg is nice too.

Great job.

You have a well visible touch of personality on your image, your portraits have a certain attitude, I like that, its almost a ,,trade mark,, ...
