Hi all!

"Guestless" (without guests) - a free translation from the name of this mountain range (Gastlosen in German). When the people of the region gave these maountains this name, they were probably not able to climb them as we can do it today. It's an emotional place, because when I was a child I often came climbing here with my father, later alone, with friends, with my brother or with my son.

The "Gastlosen" still keep being impressive and offer high quality climbing possibilities at different difficulty levels. Moreover, they are situated in a wonderful area. They are part of the Swiss Prealps and culminate at about 2000m - the highest peak (Dent the Ruth) even reaches 2252m.

The view here is from the mountain "Hundsrügg" (dog's back) that offers a great panorama on the Gastlosen and on the Alps. It also offers a wonderful ski hiking tour that starts at Abländschen in the valley at the feet of the Gastlosen.

Kind regards

Markus

Hello Markus, a superb panoramic landscape with an stunningly symetry. Details, shapes are realy impressive.
TFS this beautiful panaroma.
G's,
Mehmet

This is a well planned composition Markus... not always easy with panoramas. It must be nice to have such an image with so many memories. It is well exposed, sharp and very pleasant to gaze at.

Evelynn : )

Hi Markus!

I think this is the best quality LP panorama I've seen. And one of the most beautiful ones as well - the view here is fantastic, I love those pines snowed on one half, the details in the close snow, the wonderful mountains in the bg...
I didn't know you do climbing too, I do it indoors at the moment but when the weather gets better we're off to Croatia for the rocks. I think I'm yet far from being able to climb really big walls like that but maybe once... :)

Outstanding post on TN on my opinion, but one of my favorites for sure, so TFS!

Best regards,
Andor

We have back in Ohio a similar place but made of hills not mountains and it is called 'hogsback'... This one doesn't look as gloomy as one might think...to me I see a smile! Hmmm..All in perception I suppose...but a good pano type of shot. Different than your other pattern shots..more of a landscape eh? Very good!

Hi Markus

This is absolutely breathtaking!
A 7 vertical images stitch is exactly what such a vista needed for us to fully appreciate it and your large post is doing justice to the beauty of this place.
Very well done both aesthetically and technically. For the first one, like the immense composition and the great depth you have here, thanks to those amazing mountains in the BG. For the secound, i like the fact that despite the width of this scene, all the trees are straight and vertical and don't present and distortion.
Wonderful work, my friend...i hope that one day i will also be able to see this place with my own eyes.

Bravo and TFS
Horia

Hi Markus,

I never would have guessed that this was seven separate pictures. The landscape panorama is heavenly. Pardon the pun. The white snow, blue sky and the snow covered mountains and trees are just beautiful. A marvelous view - just what we picture when we think of Switzerland.

Ciao Markus,
TFS.

Superbly executed shot, Markus! As Evelynn says, you've composed it beautifully (I do not like the usage of the word 'plan' when speaking about art, with no offence to our friend Evelynn).
You live in a beautiful place, my friend, and the poet in you makes it look even better...in this shot you've woven in a lot of emotion,if you know what I mean...
Thanks so much!
Goldy

This is a very effective paronoramic shot! It was very well composed. I also love how you've captured it in layers from the foreground to the mountains in the back, you've managed to create a lot of depth in the image. Everything is so sharp and smooth,
Nicely done!

Hi Markus,
Beautiful winter landscape.Very well caught, framed and composed.
Thanks for posting.

Hallo Markus,

Dieter

Lieber Markus,
Herzlichen Dank.
Ae schöne Tag
Anne

Hello Markus,
A fantastic panoramic view of your alpine winter wonderland, your skill in presenting it allows us to see a fine wide view of the classic alpine combination of mountain peaks, spruces and snow with a fine clear sky BG and excellent sharpness and light management.
For a landscape this is unbeatable and reminds me of my youth when I used to come to Switzerland and Austria to ski, but that was a long time ago...
Many thanks,
Best wishes,
Ivan

Hi Markus,
this is really special. Like a virtual reality shot. The panorama is really splendid. Very welcoming, exciting and as you mentioned it is very emotional one.
I can imagine the feeling that you have for three generations of nature loving and caring expedition.
Excellent indeed and it hard to beat this shot.
The sky, the snow-capped mountains, the perspective and neat.

Hallo Markus
This is a fairy tale picture. A Winter Wonderland scene. Something I would print, frame and put it on my wall. This is really lovely. I admire the timing here and your position as photographer here, capturing the light just at the right spot. This scene works like a magnet to me. The colours and scenery is truly wonderful. Great sharpness and exposure. Lovely presentation. I do not like the cold, but it would be like a dream come true to witness a spectacular sight like this in real life. Thanks for sharing life as we see it on the Christmas cards only.
Kind regards
Anna

Hello Markus
Beautiful panoramas, with this fresh snow all around. And the sky is so clear...I would say: is a dreaming landscape.

Hi Markus,
this is an exceptional panorama!
You're so lucky to live here.
Very good detail in the LP.
Breath-taking scenery!

Very well done,

Hi Markus,

What an awesome winter scene! Fantastic composition, bright and sharp picture, and the strong sunshine makes the whole image "happy". Beautiful scenery, well captured with excellent white balance.
TFS and cheers,

Bayram

Hi Markus,
The natural curve of the landscape alsmost makes this look like a photo taken with a fish eye lens.
The view is worth more than a bar of gold. Its something I wouldn't mind seeing day in and day out....but for real of course. The details and the exposure are of a superb quality. I really like how one side of the trees are covered in snow while the other side still shows their color. On a really small scale of nit picking, there is some flare on the far left side.
TFS,
Niek

Bonjour Markus,

Hi Markus-

Simply gorgeous panorama- the next best thing to actually being there. I'm surprised to not be able to pick out any signs of the seams- very well done! Most importantly, you have captured the spirit of the mountains- the sweeping views that I've always climbed for. What a statement of pure beauty you have made.

Best regards,

Bob

Looking at the larger post is essential here, Markus. Thus viewed, it gives a fantastic close-up panoramic view of the 'Gastlosen'.
With the snow on the ground and on the trees, the scene is picture perfect and a pleasure to behold.
The features of this place don't look threatening to me, maybe unless you start climbing those rock towers on the far horizon. They certainly will need high grade skills in rock climbing.
This is an enjoyable picture for which you need to be thanked profusely.
Regards.
Ram
PS: BTW, this is the best stitched panorama I have seen so far. Great job!
