Wow, such an amazing shot ! I love the composition, with all the branches coming out of the borders from the picture, and in the middle wa can see the beautiful landscape, with small tree and hills in BG. I also like the very natural winter colors, makes me feel cold just by looking at it ! :-) Very well done !

Thanks for your Christmas wishes all the way from a snow covered Switzerland. Nice winter mood you have captured here, in a good composition. Looking at shots like these takes me back to those memories of the movies we used to watch about snow covered sceneries around Christmas time the words "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas." echo’s in my head. Thank you for your Christmas wishes Markus, both here and in your critique of my Christmas post. I like the natural framing you used here. I always like the way snow simplifies a scene by limiting the palette and obscuring so many details. The branch in the upper left corner is really pretty. I like the contrast in it. I hope your day is wonderful.

so, Weihnachtsgefühle haben Dich zum Dichten auf englisch stimuliert. Die letzten tollen Schneetage waren auch zu schön. Das Bild praktisch vor Deinem Haus ist Dir sehr gut gelungen. Auch hier hast Du wieder das Auge für einen besonderen Moment (Nebel, Föhnloch, Kälte) gehabt. Danke für die guten Wünsche. Auch Dir wünsche ich alles Gute zum Neuen Jahr.

Hi Markus and Merry Christmas!

This is indeed a very calm and peaceful setting you present us here and that is exactly how Christmas should be :)
It's nice that you have snow there (we miss it here) and the nice landscape you manage to produce here with its help is very fitting for this time of the year.
The texture of the snow-covered branches is exceptional and i especially like the one on the top left corner. The natural contrast there is terrific!
However, what also catches my eye here is the view beyond, the view in the depth that actually creates this wonderful landscape. The haze/mist in the air actually helps here in keeping some mystery for the scene and add a nice bonus to the atmosphere of the scene.
Great stuff!

I hope you had a great Christmas together with your loved ones and i wish you only the best for the next year!

Hi Markus,
A very beautiful photo with a surprising view. The thumbnail did not reveal the mountain scenery in the distance but the large one surely surprised me with it. The photo has a real feel of coldness but also a feel of serenity. Its like a little gift wrapped in snow covered tree branches.

This a beautifully composed view through the snow-covered branches showing a wintery and misty scene. The lighting is superb but it makes me almost feel the cold!

This is a fine landscape view of winter scene and showing a great mood of morning with the misty air around the area.

A good choice of the tree and branches at FG to become a strong feature in your composition, especially with snow on them to show such a calm atmosphere here. Good work.

Hi Markus,
a special rendition of the white Christmas. A nice toning by the brown branches and great soft white icy view all around. There is is no over brightness and indeed very pleasant to look and appreciate the beauty of this vast snow field.

I have missed this extraordinary shot. It is so difficult (at least for me) to get so impressive picture at cloudy, grey weather.
