Some may classify this as a "nature-mort" Markus, yet a "still-life" is also a phenomenon of "life", which is all nature is about. The abstract shape in your frozen nature image resembles a full blown sailboat, a very lively environment indeed!

Mehmet

Hi Markus,
Nice to have you for a neighbor but my little bird would not like all this ice. There are plenty of people who were born in Tucson and have never seen ice - except ice cubes. This is a beautiful shot - a perfect combination of nature and art. No chance it will be deleted.

Hello Markus !
I really do hope none of your picture will be deleted - they may not "teach" us anything, but they allow us to see all the beauty of nature, sometimes through abstract pictures. You allow us to be amazd by the beauty of very simple things. This one, just like all the others, is fantastic. Very well done !
Valerie.

Hi Markus,
Great looking, icy, painting like shot. Images like this one- fully created by natural forces have the same value for me like colourfull butterflies or wild lions in Africa... nature is nature! Well done!
Cheers,
Adrian

Let ME explain something to you as to why this is MOST CERTAINLY nature!
A monk told the Zen master: “I have just entered the monastery. Please teach me.” “Have you eaten your rice porridge?” the Zen master asked. “I’ve eaten it,” the monk replied. The Zen master said: “Then you had better wash your bowl.”
And at that moment the monk was enlightened …

Hi Markus,
the philosophical underpinnings are so many, deep and vast could arise from this shot. Basically for a layman like me, it is a beautiful piece of art, like Pollock's painting. Breautiful and lovely. Only tjis one arrive from your excellent eyes in focussing the details of beauty and you painted it with your lens. Its splendid and beautiful.
If i were to start taking the shots of tree bark then it would render the beauty of the same appreciation, so keep on doing it as it enhance thought and provoke the paradigm of beauty in nature. Naturally it is nature.
Great presentation, Markus.
regards,
Foozi

Hello Markus,
I think there is definitely a place for your Art here especially as you always add an interesting note! However if 'abstract nature images' dominated this site it would definitely not be the same! There are hundreds of photographic sites with mixed subjects but TN is very special due to its intention to make people more aware of the beauty and importance of the flora and fauna on our planet.
I think you help us to sharpen our eyes for the beauty in nature and this is a beautiful example! You're showing us the magic shapes created by water as it freezes and I like your composition very much!
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

If the ice is not "living creature" does not means that is not part from the nature. In fact water is one of the most important element from our planet and all the forms that water is taken are part of the nature. And I think that we learn a lot from your picture: you need imagination and some artistic spirit.
Well done Markus!

Ciao Markus,
TFS.
Maurizio

Hi Heaven,
Your works comes under "Patterns of Nature". And you are the master in it. NGC has a theme in its photography site titles patterns of nature. Your works are of class. I like this pattern very much. Thanks a lot for sharing.

I find the intricate patterns & designs I see of great merit Markus.
So the keyword here is "discretion".
It's like looking at interesting cloud formations..
Your imagination can get lost in there :)
Well done!

Hello Markus,
No, this is not for deletion!
I know the terms of service and much depends on what we choose to learn. To me the most important ingredient in my love of nature is in its beauty: it is not just ID-ing species and how they differ, it is the way they appeal to us humans and that that all aspects of nature are a part of the planet that we live on. We must cherish that and look after our planet so that future generations can take a look at clean ice, admire its patterns and know that it is a part of the whole.
Surely learning to appreciate the beauty of nature is a part of learning about nature!
Thanks for taking up the subject!
Best regards,
Ivan
Hi Markus!
What I've learned about nature through your pictures is that not only easily found things in nature can be beautiful, and not only common beauty is valuable. Might not be such a scientific knowledge but learning should not always be scientific. I've studied (and also will in the near future) most of all exact things like mathematics IT and financial studies so in my free time I like to take the emotional and less objective part as well.
And not only for me but for the site also I say this balance between the two "sides" can only make good. :)
And in addition I've learned much about photography itself from your abstracts. So for one I will save this wonderful shot on my computer before it gets deleted ;) TFS my friend!
Best regards,
Andor

Lieber Markus,
Gratuliere!
Herzliche Grüsse
Anne

Hi Markus
If your photos will be removed, so will part of mine :)
I also have some landscapes and some abstract shots that don't really teach people anything specific about nature...they just put things in a different perspective or show that a country that most people associate with a bad image can contain wonderful places.
So, i'm on your side all the way! I really like all your abstract shots that show the amazing geometry of the natural world - weather its rock or ice or snow, the shapes, structures and chemical bonds that are created entertain out viewing pleasure and give a nice touch of color, too.
Very nicely seen and taken here, as always!
Bravo and TFS

Lieber Markus,
Peter

Hello Marcus,
Obviously a Picasso. No, it is a Peissard:-)
I like abstract work especially when it's well done.
Thanks for sharing.
