The finer points in life

My struggles with a compact camera:
The Blues are nervous little critters and focusing is the hard part with a compact. But I start getting the hang of it.
ID: Blues are difficult to ID on picture, they form many species, you have to have pictures with the under- and the upper side. Males and females look quite different, and there is variation. I decided this one to be a female Common blue (Lepidoptera; Lycaenidae; Polyommatus icarus; Hauhechelbläuling).
Technical stuff: Cybershot DSC H-10, antishake, Zeiss Tessar Zoom with macro lens attached, no flash , no tripod, ISO 100.
I will be absent for a while. See you again at the end of August. |

Hello Dietrich,
Great macro capture of the female Common Blue!
The sharpness and POV are well chosen with nice control on DOF. The colors of the butterfly are well shown and they are so soft and natural. The blurred BG is simply adorable. Great composition overall.
Thanks for sharing!
regards,

Lieber Dieter,
